Its the return of The Mountie. Even in Chicago clothes, I will still cheer for him.
Joe Mauer hit a triple last night. His 27th of his career. That is actually 13th all time on the Twins franchise list. That kind of surprised me! It will be a stretch to move up a slot, John Castino is 12th with 34 triples.
Enjoy the game!
Judging from Molitor's pregame comments, it sounds like they brought Polanco up to sit the bench. That makes no sense, and maybe time will prove me wrong, but it didn't sound like Molitor plans to play him much unless someone gets hurt.
Well, it will probably be just for a few days then. He's probably just roster filler until Plouffe gets off the DL.
Makes sense, I guess. I'd rather Polanco got a chance, but I guess that's still not the Twins Way.
What's the over/under on how many home runs Morneau will hit tonight?
We must lead the league in giving up leadoff home runs.
That's probably a side effect of leading the league in being bad.
By far. 12 on the season. The Brewers are next with 7.
According to post-game, they've tied the record. 5 in the last 9 games, too?!
I'd turn Vargas loose 3-0. What do we have to lose?
As it turned out, nothing.
Just your basic 1-6-3 double play.
I don't want Kepler bunting here.
On the other hand...
Well, we're tied up as I take my leave. If anyone else is around, it's up to you to bring this one home.
YDNROMK!
Every time I tune in, there's another failed bunt.
Man, this team sucks at bunting.
I wonder what their bunting success rate is.
Now 16-for-34 (47%). League average is 62%. I'm guessing this is based on bunts actually put in play and doesn't count bunting until 2 strikes and then striking out on the next pitch. Twins have been awful at bunting but, surprisingly, lead the league in productive outs, both in % and in total.
Good thing they have still have a 1,000,000,000 man bullpen since each reliever can only throw a 123 inning before needing to be replaced.
HBP? No walk then?
Nope, his reputation is secure.
And a successful bunt. I guess...
Yaaay?
I mean, the guy just walked Eddie Rosario. Why swing at the first pitch, much less give up an out to do so?
It has to be pretty hard to walk both Rossario & Buxton in the same inning. (HBP/walk same thing it was ball 4)
Provus: Mauer has 1 career walk off hit.
Still does. Two walkoffs, though.
haha, that's one way to do it.
And probably a dozen or so IBBs when the walk off run is in scoring position and first base is open.
And that's why Joe can't get a walkoff hit
Sano is such a large man that he can just hoist Joe up with one arm like it's no big deal.
And Vargas has his back if he can't
He might be the only one on the team that can. Joe is a big guy, non-Sano division.
Guys, Vargas is bigger than Sano
Well I believe Sano is bigger so that's that.
You watched the latest John Oliver too, didn't you?
I believe it.
I feel that you do
Winning record in July is clinched!
Now that was TWINS BASEBALL!! We're still on track for 99-63!
