New song I've really been enjoying is:
got a Paul Simon "Graceland" vibe when it get soing
I'm digging further into Aboriginal County and it's descendants (stuff that might be called "Americana" but for, y'know, not being American).
Towards that end, the Vic Simms album The Loner from 1973 is pretty phenomenal, though is it even "country"? It seems more some combo of pre-hippies 1960's rock with a dash of James Brown funk:
A couple years ago, the Painted Ladies (a band created for the project) covered half of the songs for Painted Ladies Play Selections from 'The Loner'. It would fit superbly on Bloodshot:
"Alison" - Elvis Costello
"A Woman in Love (Its Not Me)" - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
"Danger Zone" - Kenny Loggins
"Then Came You" - The Spinners w/ Diane Warwick
"Eight Miles High" - The Byrds
"Crazy Love" - Van Morrison
"She Came In Through the Bathroom Window" - The Beatles
"Every Time It Rains" - Kenny Wayne Shepherd
"Love Will Find a Way" - YES
"Thunder Road" - Bruce Springsteen
