FMD 7/21/17: Meatloaf

Since this week's guest DJ has been none other than Meat himself, it seemed somewhat fitting that today's FMD feature be meat related. And what else could be music and meat related better than Meatloaf?

Here, enjoy this video which is a fantastic bit of ... something. Featuring Cher!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I love how earnest the man is in his songs.

Anyway, share your lists, share your favorite Meatloaf anecdotes, share your submissions for bizarre and earnest music videos... whatever moves you.

    5. When listening in headphones, this gets brutal around the 8-minute mark as feedback is slowly added to the low, churning drones. Without that, it would fit well with Dilloway & Robert Turman's Blizzard:

    7. It's about a horse, not a geyser.

  2. Random musical thought of the day:

Taylor Swift (2004) recorded a song named "Tim McGraw."
Tim McGraw (1990) recorded a song named "Give it to Me Strait."
George Strait (1975) recorded a song named "Lefty's Gone."
Lefty Frizzell (1942) recorded an album named "Songs of Jimmie Rodgers"
Jimmie Rodgers began his career in 1927.

  3. Near the end of our wedding reception, we drunkenly danced to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. The whole song. It's absolutely ridiculous on the video.

    1. How many times did you yell at your wife, "Let me sleep on it!"

Can this please be tomorrow's daily video?

      1. This was 1990, it's on VHS, I would need to get it converted which isn't a bad idea. I didn't yell out but you can tell I'm definitely losing steam at the end.

    2. Same, but I don't think ours is on video.

We now regularly request it at weddings. I still think its hilarious.

    3. I really liked that song when it came out because I thought it was a song about baseball.

        1. I'm pretty sure it is.

"So now I'm praying for the end of time..." is clearly about the length of Yankees-Red Sox games.

The visual similarity of your avatars has my memory muddled.
