Twins in the beginning of a long stretch of games against sub-500 teams, with very few teams more sub-500 than the Chicago White Sox. The third game of a rare five game tilt against the Pale Hose has Gibby once again trying to get keep the Twins in the playoff hunt. Lucas Giolito up for the Sox. Heβs one of the prospects received in the Adam Eaten trade last December and the apparently the Southsiders want to see what they got.
This will be featured in my upcoming Father Knows Best posting but the eldest now has a real job working for Guaranteed Rate Mortgage in Chicago, ironically enough 5 blocks from Wrigley Field. I am hoping that next year we can secure some sweet stadium sponsor tix and I will go down and check out βNew Comisky.β Until then I will be enjoying the view of Guaranteed Rate Field from my Barcalounger.
Nice, Cory. If you're struggling to see this pitch, Minnesota Eye Consultants can help.
Gladden predicted that Gibson would go at least seven innings tonight. I hope he's right.
His yesterday story about trying to pay Nik Turley $200 to walk from the dugout to the bullpen with one pants leg rolled way up on Sunday was amusing.
He was.
Half an inning and we're still tied!
Ho, hum. Another fine play by Byron Buxton.
And then we give them the run anyway.
Natch.
Byron Buxton needs to work on his spokesperson voice.
TWINS BASEBALL!!
I'm glad they have a sign indicating that yes, the White Sox do in fact play at that park.
KylGi not fooling anyone.
Is that still an E-6?
Gibson is pretty crappy on his own, I don't think he needs to also be killed by a thousand tiny paper cuts.
I've got a bad feeling about this.
You'll get NOTHING. AND YOU'LL LIKE IT!
Luxury!
Strikeout swinging. Strikeout swinging. Strikeout swinging.
Where is that Gibson the rest of the game? Rest of the season?
Where did THAT come from?? Gibby!
Gibson is the new bassist for the Wiggles. (actually, does that count Wiggling if you strike them out?)
Dazzle says we have momentum on our side! We're going to win for sure now!
Woo for physics!
hip hip JORGE!!!
POLANCO! I could get used to this Polanco who hits home runs.
Momentum, thy name is Donger.
With Dick 'n Bert discussing Lucas Giolito, I had to check his Wikipedia page. He has a great profile photo:
He's got a good outlook on life.
Is that Bane?
and I immediately thought "Eddie Bane? Huh?"
Ditto. Wrong goggles
who is "Ed Bane"??? π
"My eyes! The googles do nothing!"
I'm assuming he has a deal with samsung.
Jorge Polanco has hit 10 career home runs. 5 have come against the White Sox, and all those in Chicago. crazy!
I guess that's why Molitor batted him third tonight.
3 of his 10 homers have come in Cleveland, all against Trevor Bauer

KENNYS!
VARGAS!!!!
I really hope sometime soon someone just puts him in the lineup and gives him a chance to show what he can do.
You mean, for the Twins?
Ideally, yes, but if the Twins don't want to give him that chance I'd like them to send him to someone who does.
I don't know. He always seems to start out well nut fades the more at-bats he gets.
He's been streaky. Every time he's hit a cold streak, the Twins have shipped him out rather than letting him try to work his way out of it. Maybe he wouldn't be able to, but we don't know, because he's never gotten the chance.
9 straight? If we talk about it, does it end?
ROSARIO!!!!
ALL THE HOME RUNS!
Eddie and the Jettsssssssssssssssssssss
Love the nickname!
Practically the '27 Yanquis. Break 'em up!
Boy is my feed behind.
Aaron Bummer?
Duuuude.
Yes, I'm a 12-year old boy. Why do you ask?
It's not your fault that a guy named Bummer plays for the sad sack white Sox and immediately made an error.
Is that a hit? Or just a bummer?
ChiSox really missing Swizzlesnap according to Provus.
Funny thing about Swizzlesquatch is that once he left the Twins, his k/9 rate skyrocketed.
It's games like this that let out the leash. I still don't think it's worth it.
Trevor Hildenburger was a 22nd round pick in the 2014 draft. He is the lowest draft pick that signed with his team to make it to the majors out of the draft (so far) The next lowest round player is Greg Mahle of the Angels, a 15th rounder.
Not sure if the ump said "walk" or if the pitcher said something that rhymes with truck.
The crowds have been so quiet/sparse one of the mics has been picking up pretty much anything the ump barks out.
I'm pretty sure that was Big Pelf.
That's what I suspected as well.
obligatory.
Belisle is the living personification of "Do what you can, with what you've got, where you are."
not turds!
