Off-Season’s Greetings: Games of November 2

LaMonte Wade has a good day.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Twins:  LaMonte Wade was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Chris Paul was 1-for-4 with a double and a walk.

The goofy "start an inning with a runner on second" rule came into play in two of the three games.  This seems like as good a time as any to note that apparently, when the man who starts on second scores, it's scored as an unearned run.

MESA 8, SURPRISE 6 IN MESA (10 INNINGS)

Sheldon Neuse (Oakland) hit a walkoff two-run homer to win it for Mesa.  Kody Eaves (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second) and a double, driving in four.  Kelvin Gutierrez (Washington) was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Neuse's homer was his fourth.  Josh Morgan (Texas) was 4-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs to lead Surprise.

SALT RIVER 6, GLENDALE 3 IN GLENDALE (10 INNINGS)

Salt River scored three in the tenth to win it.  Victor Reyes (Arizona) was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs.  Sean Brady (Cleveland) pitched five innings for Glendale, giving up an unearned run on three hits and no walks with four strikeouts.

CARACAS 6, MARGARITA 2 IN MARGARITA

Caracas scored three in the third and three in the seventh to build a 6-0 lead.  Harold Castro was 3-for-5 with a double.  Luis Diaz struck out nine in 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

JALISCO 5, HERMOSILLO 0 IN HERMOSILLO

Amadeo Zazueta hit a three-run homer in a four-run fifth and Jalisco led the rest of the way.  It was Zazueta's second homer of the season.  Kyle Lloyd struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.
