Do you have a day filled with formal meetings or presentations? Or maybe today will be quiet, allowing you to work on projects? Maybe your day is somewhere in the middle. Effective immediately, Union Pacific recognizes a "dress for your day" dress code allowing you to base your attire on your day's agenda.
Doesn't affect me that much as a telecommuter, but it makes for more flexible trips to the HQ mothership, especially during the winter months.
Might have to pass this one around the office...current industry trends and whatnot...
Might be a tough sell as we raise a nice sum for the United Way by letting people buy the right to wear jeans at work. Too rich for my blood, though.
I find extensive use of them is cheaper than buying better clothes.
In my case, this also includes bathrobes.
I was gonna ask if pants were involved.
Were you?
Kind of crazy how different worlds can intersect. I’m sending out contributors’ copies of the fall issue of the journal. One of the poets in this issue passed away this spring (he contributed some poems to our spring issue, too, but never got to see it). When I was corresponding with his wife about the second set of poems we accepted, she told me one of the poems refers to a friend of his. I offered to send a copy of the issue to the friend’s family; they live in North Dakota. Turns out the friend (who is also no longer with us) was a member of the Twins Platoon.
Its weird that other teams are actively seeing the flotsam known as the Twins pitching. The Pirates claimed Nik Turley.
Nothing against Turley or any of the other guys the Twins have lost, but my hope is that this is clearing the way for the Twins to sign some better players.
RIP Stelly 🙁
Rick Stelmaszek, a Twins coach for 32 seasons (1981-2012) under five different managers, has died at the age of 69.
Glad he got one last moment in the sun this year, but this comes too soon. He was one of baseball’s originals.
Way too soon.
Sounds like the "Big Train" would have fit in well in Minnesota.
Part 4 Everyone in the ball park knew what pitch Walter Johnson was going to throw and still no one could hit it. 4/3/1943 #GraysonFBPpic.twitter.com/ne7GhkC2X2
How about that -- I have a presentation to give at 9. Wonder what it's about?
Don't forget your Holiday Mix picks, y'all.
woohoo!

Your new Twins bench coach, Derek Shelton!
Also from that link, Nik Turley claimed off waivers by the Pirates.
Keep your info safely encrypted with... lava lamps.

Sad news.
