D'Arby Myers' RBI single in the seventh broke a 2-2 tie.  Edgar Gonzalez pitched six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and striking out one.  For Jalisco, William Oliver pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and two walks and striking out five.

Culiacan leads the series 2-1.

HERMOSILLO 4, NAVOJOA 3 IN HERMOSILLO

Cedric Hunter homered in the seventh to break a 3-3 tie.  Raul Barron pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.  For Navojoa, Alejandro Gonzalez was 2-for-4 with a double.

Navojoa leads the series 2-1.

MAZATLAN 3, MEXICALI 0 IN MAZATLAN

Mazatlan scored one in the fourth and two in the seventh.  Alejandro Soto pitched 5.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and three walks and striking out one.  For the Aguilas, Miguel Pena pitched 4.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits and three walks and striking out two.

Mexicali leads the series 2-1.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

ESCOGIDO 10, AGUILAS 5 IN ESCOGIDO

Trailing 2-0, Escogido scored seven runs in the sixth to take control of the game.  Matt Hague was 3-for-5.  Kelvin Marte pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and striking out three.  For the Aguilas, Edwin Espinal was 3-for-3 with a walk.  Richelson Pena pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out three.

LICEY 5, GIGANTES 4 IN LICEY

Trailing 3-2, Licey scored three in the fifth to go into the lead to stay.  The Gigantes got the tying run to third base with two out in the ninth.  For Licey, Jair Jurrjens pitched six innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk and striking out one.

Twins:  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-5 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two.

CANBERRA 2, MELBOURNE 0 IN MELBOURNE

Canberra scored a single run in each of the first and last innings.  David Kandilas hit a home run, his fifth.  Brian Grening pitched a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and striking out five.  For Melbourne, Mark Hamburger struck out sixteen in a complete game, giving up two runs on four hits.

BRISBANE 7, SYDNEY 2 IN SYDNEY

Brisbane trailed 2-1, but Logan Wade hit a two-run triple in a three-run sixth that put Brisbane in the lead to stay.  Donald Lutz was 3-for-5 with a home run (his eighth) and a double, driving in three.  Andrew Campbell was 3-for-5.  Ryan Bollinger struck out six in six innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk.  For Sydney, Connor McDonald hit a home run, his fourth.

PERTH 5, ADELAIDE 3 IN ADELAIDE

Leading 2-1, Perth scored three in the eighth to put the game out of reach.  Luke Hughes was 2-for-4 with a home run (his eighth), a double, and a walk.  Jesse Williams was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run.  Michael Brosseau was 2-for-4 with a home run (his sixth) and a walk.  Alex Boshers pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on six hits and striking out three.  For Adelaide, Greg Mosel struck out six in six innings, giving up one run on five hits.
