  1. Minor Details will not appear tomorrow. If nothing unexpected happens, we'll get caught up Friday.

  2. At just shy of 24, Stewart is still 1.5 years younger than the AA league average (and I have no idea about the 'proper' progression for a young pitcher), but as the #4 overall pick in '13, should we be concerned about him, 9 starts into his third year of AA ball?

    1. I think so. I would guess the AA and AAA averages tend high because of career minor leaguers getting stuck there.

      1. /tries to feel better. looks at 2013 draft. sees Appel #1 ... humph, not so good for HOU... okay. Bryant #2 w. 21.7 WAR in ~500 games for Cubs ... yup, #3 - Jon Gray in CO ... serviceable. Stewart at #4 ... eyes pick up a 10.4 WAR, way down at #32 in compensatory picks ... effing. gross./

        1. Hunter Dozier sighting too.

Stewart's 5.9 K/9 and 4.3 BB/9 in 208 innings at AA also don't bode well. His high-A numbers weren't a lot better so he appears stuck unless he suddenly gets the whiffiest pitch in baseball.

          1. He's young enough to figure stuff out and, hopefully, the pitching savants in the 'new' front office can get him the coaching he needs to do so.

I would love it if "Good Kyle Gibson" is really here - imagine a Berrios, Romero, Odorizzi, Gibson, [insert Gonsalves, Slegers, Littell ...] rotation in the next few years ...
