Minor Details: Games of June 6

Aaron Slegers did well for five innings.  The Lookouts get slaughtered again.  The Miracle loses in extras.  The Kernels get swept.  Victor Heredia and Anthony Escobar carry the DSL Twins to the lone organizational win.

INDIANAPOLIS 7, ROCHESTER 2 IN ROCHESTER

The Red Wings were ahead 2-1 after five, but Erich Weiss hit a two-run homer in a three-run sixth and the Indians led the rest of the way.  Rochester had just four hits.

Nick Gordon was 1-for-4 with a double and is batting .350.  Cameron Rupp was 0-for-2 with two walks in his Rochester debut.

Aaron Slegers pitched 5.1 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on seven hits and four walks and striking out four.  D. J. Baxendale struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

MOBILE 17, CHATTANOOGA 4 IN CHATTANOOGA

The BayBears have definitely been cool, as they have scored double-digit runs against the Lookouts for the second consecutive game.  An eight-run third put them up 8-1 and left them in control of the game.

Brent Rooker was 2-for-2 with a home run (his eighth), a double, and two walks, scoring twice and driving in two.  Zander Wiel was 1-for-4 and is batting .308.

Anthony Marzi pitched well for two innings, but his line is 2.2 innings, eight runs, six hits, three walks, and two strikeouts.  Chattanooga's best pitcher was infielder Alex Perez, who pitched a scoreless inning and gave up one hit.

PALM BEACH 9, FORT MYERS 5 IN FORT MYERS (10 INNINGS)

Shane Billings homered in the seventh to tie it 5-5.  Dylan Carlson hit a grand slam in the tenth to win it.

Luis Arraez was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Clark Beeker pitched six innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on eleven hits and no walks and striking out four.  Ryan Mason pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits.  His ERA is 2.37.

BELOIT 4, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (GAME 1--8 INNINGS--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Jordan Gore singled home a run with two out in the seventh to tie it 2-2 and trigger the Manfred Rule.  The Snappers scored two in the top of the eighth, aided by a bunt on which no one was retired and a wild pitch.  The Kernels scored one in the bottom of the inning, but pinch-runner Jacob Pearson was caught stealing with two out to end the game.

Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs.  Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .330.  Robby Rinn was 1-for-4 and is batting .367.

Brusdar Graterol pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and no walks and striking out four.  His ERA is 1.95.

BELOIT 3, CEDAR RAPIDS 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

The Snappers scored two in the first and it was all they needed.  The Kernels had just two hits.

Robby Rinn was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .344.  Alex Kirilloff was 0-for-2 with a walk and is batting .327.

Tanner Kiest pitched just one inning, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks and striking out one.  He threw thirty-six pitches and apparently was on a pitch count.  Randy Dobnak relieved and pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits and no walks and striking out two.

DSL TWINS 8, DSL YANKEES 6 AT TWINS

It was 7-0 before the Yankees got on the board with five in the eighth.  The Yankees did not get the tying run on base.

Victor Heredia was 3-for-4 with a home run and a triple, scoring twice.  He is batting .429.  Wander Valdez was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  He is batting .333.  Luis Gomez was 1-for-4 and is batting .400.  Brahiap Carrillo was 1-for-3 with a triple and is batting .333.

Anthony Escobar struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Luciano De La Cruz struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
