Minor Details: Games of June 17

BUFFALO 3, ROCHESTER 2 IN BUFFALO

A run-scoring force out tied it 2-2 in the fifth, but a sacrifice fly in the sixth put the Bisons into the lead to stay.  A second-inning solo homer by Anthony Alford was the only run-scoring hit of the game.

Kennys Vargas was 2-for-3 with a double.

Aaron Slegers pitched five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and five walks and striking out four.  Tyler Duffey pitched a scoreless inning despite giving up two hits and two walks, which is not easy to do.  His ERA is 1.19.  Nick Anderson pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts.

PEORIA 12, CEDAR RAPIDS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Back-to-back homers by Irving Lopez and Elehuris Montero gave the Chiefs a 3-1 lead.  Peoria led 6-2 through eight and put an exclamation point on it with six in the ninth.

Andrew Bechtold was 2-for-3 with a double.  Alex Kirilloff was 2-for-4 with two doubles and is batting .333.  Robby Rinn was 1-for-4 with a walk and is batting .348.

Jordan Balazovic struck out six in five innings but gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks.  His ERA is 2.30.
