  1. After two years, I'm about 75% done with finishing my front door! My wife insisted we replace the one we had, so she picked out a pre-hung and made me install it... which is when I found out our wall was deeper than normal. I finally got the jamb extensions on a couple weeks ago, but then my hand sander became useless because the velcro glue gave up its hold so I haven't been able to sand it down so the frickin door doesn't rub against it. Maybe this weekend, eh?

I've also got a fence gate to rebuild, mulch to lay down in the back, and I'd like to build some more shelving for the garage. I've also got a few more interior doors that I want to replace with fake six-panel white doors, plus changing all the trim over to white and maybe thinking about some hardwood floors. Also, I hate my house and, since I bought it just a few months before the crash, I am only just now starting to know what equity feels like. (it seems useless).

    1. Besides the kitchen cabinet painting, we need to replace the cheap pine banisters / rails on the stairs with oak to match the flooring, and if we ever had weather that wasn't in the 90s or rain (or Sunday when I'm feeling lazy), I need to finish my blueberry bush fence enclosure. And it looks like I lost one of my three blueberry bushes to the heat :/

        1. Our plans for this summer:

          - Fix the hole 4-year-old put in his bedroom wall
          - Paint said bedroom
          - Build a bench/storage unit for our kitchen
          - Clear out and organize garage
          - Tear out crappy garage storage so we can actually fit a car in that side
          - Install nice storage cabinets in garage
          - Install new lights in kitchen to replace the quickly dying fluorescents
          - Finally do finishing touches (backsplash, paint trim) of bathroom remodel we did 2+ years ago

That looks like a lot when I actually write it down. I should probably get to work...

  2. We are just trying to recover some of the equity lost in the Big Fix (and get The Girl finished with college) to start looking again for our Last House. I'll have a shared fence to replace, but otherwise the house is now in pretty good shape. Holding our breath that the pipes through the slab don't fail like our neighbor's across the street did a few years ago.

  3. As Baseball-Reference points out today on FB:

The #Indians have the worst record of any division leader (43-34), but the largest lead over the 2nd place team in their division (7.5 games)

  4. We've been slowly replacing the deck (started 4 years ago?) as the boards wear out. Got four boards sitting out there right now. Maybe _this_ weekend.

  5. We just replaced the windows. That resulted in finding water damage in one of the walls which will result in more repairs. Fun!

    1. Water on the floor again in front of the dishwasher, so not the supply line (which I just replaced); this time I was home and tracked it down to the front corner of the door (and there were suds in it) so it might be the gasket. In any case, time for a new one. Wonder if Best Buy has a 4th of July sale on appliances coming up...?

  6. I've been able to work on a little Python training this week since it's too wet to do the copious amounts of yardwork I need to do.

    1. I've been slowly learning Python over the past year or so, too. I only have a couple of programming projects I need to work on right now, so I haven't been too motivated to dive in fully.

  7. Watching the 4ltr tonight, I learned that the Lowell Spinners had a Steve Horgan Bobblehead Night. Ok, that is pretty funny. But the bobblehead should have had both arms raised up.
