  1. I know I initially said Brewers, but they still have Moustakas so I think I'm going to abandon that and root for the Rockies.

    1. I’d be rooting for the Rockies in any case, but I’d find it hard to root for the Brewers anyway — not because of the Brewers’ style of play, but because I find the football mentality dominating Wisconsin’s sports culture to be beyond obnoxious.

    2. I'm good with either, though I fully believe that the Brewers will crush the Rockies.

Is Moustakas some massive d-bag? Or are we Clemenating here?

        1. Ah! That works.

I like Lorenzo Cain, and watching the game the other night made me realize I don't really know of many of the Rockies. On the one hand, that means that I could get to know them and guys like "What's His Face, the catcher who isn't Drew Butera" could become my next favorite out of towner.

Or...I could watch Lorenzo Cain and Christian Yelich and some other really good players win the World Series.

          Decisions, decisions.

          1. Here’s how little I know about the Brewers: I know Christian Yelich is odds on favorite to win NL-MVP, but I have no idea what position he plays.

            Go Rox.

            1. Neither does he. Positions played this year:

              Position Games Innings
              Pos1 90 596
              Pos2 75 557.1
              Pos3 25 115.2
  2. Got to bed late last night after a trip to Fargo and back: found out Tuesday night that one of my brothers up from AZ for the wedding this weekend had planned to spend a few days tooling around MN with his wife, but checked into Sanford in Fargo after some health symptoms had them concerned. He has been tentatively diagnosed with (a very treatable form of) leukemia (APL). We decided to make the 2hr drive there and got to spend a couple hours visiting with him (and a neighbor from the farm I grew up near many years ago who was also visiting). He's recently retired, so if he has to remain in Fargo the couple months of treatment, he can, although they also have three kids that aren't out on their own yet, so that complicates things. Also, he's not going to like the turn in weather from his normal AZ this time of year.

We're going to try stream the wedding to him Saturday, and help out where we can. Kind of a bummer the circumstances; he had had a couple things that should have gotten his attention earlier -- folks, take care of yourselves!
