  1. I shifted to hockey as soon as the NHL regular season started. I just felt this BOS vs LA series coming and did not watch a single MLB playoff game.

The Wild worried me a bit right out of the gate, but these last 2 games they have showed me something. Down 1-0 to Dallas in the 3rd period and come out with a 3-1 victory. Overcoming 2 goal leads twice against Tampa Bay and coming away with an OT victory. First OT assist by a Wild goalie with Stalock getting the helper.

So far, the guys you expect are pulling their weight. Dubnyk looking stellar. Parise, Granlund, Suter, Zucker and Dumba putting up points. Would like to see Greenway and Nino pick it up a little bit. I think this team is still finding it's identity, but they have overcome some slow starts by digging deep in the 3rd period.

Also, loving some college hockey with my SCSU huskies looking very fine and 4 Minnesota teams in the top 7 in the country. With the boy working at Mariucci and Motzko at the helm, I can almost root for the Gophers when they are not playing my team.

      1. UND was my daughter's favorite team for a long time, as her U8 team played in between periods of a U of M/UND women's game at the Ralph. They got a tour of the locker rooms/pregame speech due to a local player suiting up for UND. Unfortunately, they dropped women's hockey and now they are evil in her book. Lots of Sioux fans in my neck of the woods. Lots of snarky banter going back and forth. I still root for them as they are in the cool conference and not the BIG fail hockey conference. #moneygrab

    1. Between the Butler saga and the King going to LA, I have lost interest in the NBA. As a guy who played basketball, it saddens me, but that's where I am at. Trying to generate interest in Gopher Basketball, but the off court troubles over the past 5 years have soured me on that too. I guess going to the rink for 12 years to watch my kids skate have turned me into a hockey guy. I might have to start skating again and play some fat old man league.

      1. with all due respect to the King, the brand of ball played by the Warriors is supremely entertaining. I'm waiting for more clubs to adapt and adopt.

Even Houston seems to have adapted a bit. I find James Harden's hero ball boring, but, judging from last night's game, Houston has improved its ball movement. Whether that will be sustained remains to be seen.

      2. Embrace the chaos!

I've enjoyed the butler saga in a morbid way, but I haven't watched a game since Thibs and Rose are still with the team. Allowing Thibs to continue coaching KAT is probably the single most short sighted and stupid thing Glen could be doing. It just makes no damn sense.

If I had a bunch of extra cash laying around, I'd get league pass and watch the Jazz. By all accounts they're a lot of fun to a watch and they like each other.

    1. And the Reds hired David Bell. So far, none of the Twins’ known candidates have been lured elsewhere. I’m disappointed by reports that Hensley Muelens seems to have not made it to their second round, as he really intrigues me and I think the Giants are a pretty interesting organization. Of the other known external candidates, Baldelli intrigues me the most.

I’m a bit worried by what the Blue Jays & Rangers might do if they hire first.

  2. On the Grill In the Instant Pot tonight: shrimp biryani. Damn. Pics to follow. Google pressure-cooker shrimp biryani at the NYT.

    1. Ooh. Sounds good.

Earlier, NBBW pointed me to Food Schmooze, CT's radio food sqwauker Middleton, and Bundt-Pan Chicken. Not going to find any bundt-pans at tag sales out here now.

Luckily, we have a teflon-coated bundt-pan in Scandia - I will try this out next time in MNy.

            1. If you refuse to admit Jar-jar Binks and his relatives to your shows,
you'd have a Gungan-ban Bundt Pan Punk Band.

              1. Maybe forget about Gungans (they're fictitious) , but refuse those who've taken monastic vows. And sing songs about Li'l John.
