Rough game last night. Good game for Polanco, though. Hopefully exactly one of those trends continues.

Buxton is in the lineup!
No runs for the Phillies after one!
Gladden pins Austin's DFA on Odorizzi's poor start rather than management's refusal to recognize that a starting pitcher just might have a bad start eventually.
When was the last time you saw a starting pitcher pulled in the first inning with only 2 runs scored (and it wasn't all walks) and 2 outs. If he gets the Phillies' worst non-pitcher batter out, he's out of the inning and starts the second facing the pitcher. Yes, we had a rested bullpen and Perez was pitching on regular rest, but that was an awfully quick hook. I blame Austin being DFA-ed on Rocco's decision to pull Odo so quickly.
Buxton with a solid base hit. Everything about his hitting looks much, much better this year.
And steals second.
Which gets him on base more often, which is just a freaking DELIGHT.
Twins baseball!
Whoa. Kepler crushed that one.
Kepowerler!
Buxton singles, steals second, makes third on grounder to short, and scores on a wild pitch. Obviously Kepler will then smash the ball and skip all that running.
TORTUGA!!
Tortuga!
Turtle power!
Shelled!
Looks like I tuned in at just the right time.
Castro has started three games at catcher for a total of 21 innings. Garver started once but has caught in three games to also reach 21 innings. Astudillo has now started twice to also appear in three games. If he finishes today's game, he'll also be at 21 innings behind the plate.
Hard to keep Astudillo’s bat out of the lineup.
They’re already my favorite catching corps since Mauer & Redmond.
I’m not sure Pineda could beat Colón in a foot race.
The rare 8-2 double play!
8-2 double play!
That was a dandy throw and an even better catch and tag.
The most exciting player & most unusual player on the roster, combining to get the most annoying player on the other side out at the plate. There’s nothing to not love there.
Buxton is wonderful
Just finished Opening Day at the Runner lawn (started first pull!) and just saw the bases loaded no outs situation. I immediately closed Gameday to not jinx it.
Never leave again, Buxton.
I like this version of Hildenberger.
Neshek sighting!
La Tortuga vs Neshek is the greatest
Unless and until Colon signs with somebody.
I hope Sideshow pitches into his sixties.
A team with good, heads-up baserunning is such a delight to watch.
Nice play by Adrianza.
Ball four was strike two.
Gameday had it inside.
Robo-umps NOW
This is stupid
Concur.
I had hoped he could go the ninth three batters ago...
wiggle wiggle wiggle
That works.
Whew.
That must have been aggravating for Phillies fans.
I certainly hope so.
Seranthony is a great first name.
It's also a good title and first name as well
Reminds me of GW basketball's leading scorer my freshman year: SirValiant Brown
That’s medieval, and brilliant.
The ankle is connected to the knee bone?
Eddie!
Dido.
Eddie!
EDDIE!
Well, there goes the one run win. I hope.
I thought that was a foul ball, but it snuck in Fair.
Not so stupid
This is sweet after the recent articles about how the Phils have been destroying opposing starters and racking up the scores
Álvarez worked hard for that walk.
He really did. I think he got one pitch in the strike zone.
Good recovery from last night.
Free the puppies! Nice win.
Only time Twins batters K'd was Garver's PH
And he never took the bat off his shoulders.
Internet dropped just in time for me to miss the bottom of the ninth. Good game, everyone. High fives and ass slaps all around.
Listen, phone. You’ve known me for years. Stop autocorrecting to “ads.”
ads slaps??
Damn, sounds like I missed a fun one. Instead I spent that time killing myself digging up a 300 Sq ft patch of back yard for the giant freekin playset my mom got the kids. I think I'll go get Moscow mule ingredients to celebrate the win and dull the ache in my back. Stupid shovels.
You know what really hurts? Lime juice in a broken open blister.
Last year, the Twins opened the season with a 5 game roadie and went 3-2. This year, they are 3-1!
