  1. Gophers v. TCU at the Bank for $6.50. Me thinks I'll be watching some live baseball this weekend.

  2. Speaking of twos, this morning I will conduct the two hundredth funeral of my pastoral career. You don't exactly celebrate that, of course, and I'm not suggesting that it puts me in the Guinness book of world records. Still, it's a milestone of sorts, and I thought I should mention it someplace.

    1. Between pastors (priests, etc) and funeral directors, I have much respect. I don't know if I could do it. I have a handful of friends who are funeral directors and a few pastors as well. Every single on of them are so happy, energetic and pleasant to talk to. I would have a hard time staying upbeat dealing with so many funerals. I think you can celebrate the fact that you are able to preside over so many funerals and still be an uplifting person for your congregation.

  3. Back to work today after my Tucson vacation. I gotta say, that is a pretty cool town. Over 500,000 population, but it sure doesn't feel like it. We were blessed with 5 glorious days that all topped out at 75 degrees. The Ventana Canyon golf course was incredible. Just beautiful. If you ever get a chance to take the trip, I highly recommend spending some time there. Loews Resort was a great home base for our adventures. A bit spendy, but hey, you can't take it with you.

    1. Just finished booking my flights to AZ (Mesa/PHX) for March. Super pumped to take in some baseball and get some good hikes in.

        1. Apache Junction, affectionately known as "Little Wabasso" since approximately a quarter of our town winters in that city.

      1. Yeah I frequent the area and love the Superstitions. Lost Dutchman is one of my favorite parks and I've been meaning to get to the Needle and do the 4 peaks.

              1. MLB has it’s head up its ass on how this season is going to be for the Astros. People banging on garbage cans, whole stadiums chanting in unison Cheeeee-ter when Altuve et al. come to the plate, rehash the scandal articles in the local media when the Astros come to town. Signs like this everywhere....

                1. And while they haven't said it exactly this way, MLB has implied that the penalty for throwing at Astros players will be more severe than for throwing at players on other teams. I'm not for throwing at anybody anytime--there's too much chance of significant injury. But this seems like it essentially rewards the Astros for their behavior. Pitchers may be afraid to come inside on them, for fear they'll be penalized for throwing at them.
