Kirby Puckett Region: #3 vs. #14

3.  Kirby Puckett Robs Ron Gant

Plexiglass?  Gosh the Metrodome was weird.

14. Jason Kubel Slams Rivera

Kuby Smacks are my favorite snacks.  The Twins only hit two homers off Rivera in his career, and this countdown has both of them.

    1. I was not at a single game in this tourney. Probably the best moments I attended:

1)Twins beating Greinke in game 161 in 2009
      2)Cuddyer's cycle
      3)Puckett's first career grand slam
4)Joe Mays beating Angels in ALCS game 1

  1. One of the best games I ever attended that won't make your list is this one: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MIN/MIN198709270.shtml

Twins clinched a division tie. Fans were starting to believe it could happen so the crowd was pretty fired up. Blyleven gave up a walk and single to the first two hitters. Third hitter grounded into the rare 5-4-2 double play. Tartabull is next hitter and if memory serves, Puckett brought back a home run for the third out.

The Twins went on to win that game pretty handily but that first inning was tense! They were going on the road after that and everyone wanted to see them clinch at home.

        1. Okay that double play is awesome, what with Blyleven doing acrobatics to get out of the way

          1. It was pretty shocking. I just assumed they'd concede the run in the first inning and take the easy 5-4-3. I was thoroughly confused when Newman threw home. I'm guessing Wilson didn't go all-out since he was one of the fastest runners in the game.
