Rare Tuesday afternoon game as Reds finish up a 2-game series at Target Field.
Bailey Ober on the mound for the Twins and he's look o.k. Seems like the Twins were able to squeeze a few more mph out of that 6'9' frame and it's made all the difference. Wide Miley on for the Reds.
Twins bullpen has been lights out lately and really the key to the Twins current 5-game win streak. Just think if Twins relievers had pitched like this all season? But this being Minnesota sports, we have to temper that improved bullpen with a Buxton broken finger. You can't have too many nice things apparently.
12:10a first pitch on a beautiful day. If I wasn't so dang busy at work, it would be perfect to play some hooky and take in a game.
Twins are 28-27 when the bullpen allows less than 1 run per inning.
They are 23-14 when the bullpen allows less than 0.5 runs per inning.

Consistency is key
Gleeman's article about Ober made me feel better about him. He has the second best extension (i.e. how far from the mound he releases the ball) in MLB and now average velocity. He's not expected to lead a rotation but developing someone that could barely top 90 mph into a mid-rotation starter is great for depth.
Whats the point of interleague games if you are going to play essentially a night-day doubleheader
To try and beat your opponent?
well yeah there is that 😆
Someone in front of me is wearing a Nick Tepesch jersey
Could it be Nick himself?
If so, he's aged horribly
Keep subbing those Reds relievers!
How?
brought in a righty to face Kirilloff? Thanks!
Relievers unable to stop the scoring? Good to know other teams have the same problem.
Hansel Colome
we better not lose scoring 7 runs
If the relievers can continue their recent good work and concentrate their suckiness into a single game like they did today, it would really be beneficial.
