  1. Note to next Twins game logger. We've been off a game number for a while, at least through this past White Sox series. It is game 86 tonight.

  2. The Lightning are the current dynasty in the NHL, not much question about that.

    In the last 7 years:
    - 2 Cups
    - 3 Conference championships (+ two game 7 losses in conference finals)
    - 1 President's Trophy (best regular season record)
    - 2 Division titles
    - .624 winning percentage in playoffs (68-41)
    - 1.32 PPG in the regular season.

Tampa has 5 appearances in the third round in 7 years and 18 third round wins. That's more wins in the third round than any other franchise has had in the last 24 years.

      1. Teams without a third round win in the salary cap era (the last 16 NHL seasons)

        Calgary
        Colorado
        Columbus
        Florida
        Minnesota
        Toronto

Tampa has more wins in the third & fourth rounds than any NHL team in the cap era (plus they won the Cup the year before the cap was implemented).

        Tampa - 31 (2 Cups)
        Pittsburgh - 30 (3 Cups)
        Chicago - 28 (3 Cups)
        Boston - 21 (1 Cup)
        Los Angeles - 17 (2 Cups)
        Detroit - 17 (1 Cup)

6 teams have won 12 of 16 Cups and have more than 50% of the wins in the third and fourth rounds of the playoffs over the last 16 years.

    1. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. The supporters section on the south end (opposite the scoreboard/beer hall) is standing only, all chanting, drumming, etc. Some people love that section some people hate it, it's a great experience if that appeals to you. The upper sections even have great sitelines, obviously the corners are the worse seats. Plus open concourses so you can walk around and check out the views.

      1. I'm taking a friend from Chicago. Neither of us are big soccer guys but figured we'd enjoy the experience.

Any advice on pre- or post-game?

          1. The bar that replaced Big V's is decent (Midway Saloon). I actually like to pregame there. Black Heart is positioning itself as the go to soccer bar in the vicinity (supporter groups meet there so it will be crowded and noisy) Turf Club is a great place to pre-game, not sure about timing with any shows and the game. All within walking distance.

There are a couple of brew pubs near Raymond/Vandalia and University you could check out too. Just 3-4 station stops away. Dual Citizen, Lake Monster, Dubliner Pub.

            1. A good buddy of mine is a drummer for a gig at the Dubliner. I got to get over there and see him.

            2. My good friends have season tickets and Black Hart is their go-to, both for the soccer scene, and the social scene:

The Black Hart continues the long legacy of Town House Bar as a home for the LBGTQ+ community.

  3. I just got my first computer monitor in about 12-13 years. They are a lot nicer than they used to be.

    1. That's how old mine is and it's still better than my work monitor. Still does great but I'd take an upgrade

      1. I bought a 27" LG, so its probably a bit big for my tiny home desk. But it looks great so far!

        1. I have two monitor display. One is a 21 inch and one is a 16 inch. 13 years ago I couldn't afford to get two monitors that were the same. Now I'm just stubborn
