Pasquantino does a 3/4 swing and 3rd base umpire confidently says no swing. And then a hit. We need a Hawk-Eye system or something. Neither the home plate umpire nor the line umpires have a good angle.
So you can bat can completely cross the plate, but as long as you don't break your wrists it's a check?
Sure. The check swing rule is entirely umpire discretion. It always amuses me when the broadcast talks about a specific thing because it's none of those.

I'm a little disappointed it took only a month for López to lose the closer job. I recall skepticism about how much was real this year so I guess not much is the answer.
