    1. Afraid not, we'll be out of town celebrating my wife's birthday. To make that happen I'm working the first two Yankees games this week, so double shifts two days in a row. Not sure why I do these things to myself, I'm likely to regret it.

  1. Our buyers came back wanting $2k in concessions for things that do not need to be fixed. What is 2k. I bucked back and said no dice on one of the fixes and that we’d give 500 dollars to buy them lunch. They threatened to walk and I buckled. So they get 1500 out of us. Kinda salt in the wound. Whatever.

    1. Ugh. This happens all the time in my negotiations - real estate and otherwise. I hate having to tell my clients to keep their eyes on the prize, when others nickle and dime crap like this. Usually the other side ends up paying more to their agents than they're getting from this kind of thing, so no one is really benefitting.

    2. We found about five things not up to code during our purchase, so we asked the sellers to make those fixes (collective cost was likely about $10,000). Their counter was to lower the price by $17,500. Um ok.

Anyway, sounds like you're getting closer, so congrats!

      1. Home values are stupid right now (I have like $100k in equity right now even though my house should absolutely not be worth that much) but crap like this is why I never want to sell.

    3. When I sold 2.5 years ago and the residential real estate market in SW Minneapolis was scorching hot, my Realtor said don't be surprised if you get a over price bid but once accepted, they will try to wriggle down with concessions. Basically he said, it was (1) one way to get accepted in a competitive market, and (2) if people are spending that much for a house, they want as much as possible in good working order.

Sure enough once the inspection came in, there were a bunch of asks. I balked at the unserious ones but I did have to pay for a new roof. That one got my goat a bit as I disclosed that the roof was 24 years old and one could tell that through the eye test that it probably needed replacing. I thought the house was priced accordingly and someone would be bidding with that knowledge in hand. Alas. I wish I had bitten the bullet and had the roof done on my own before listing. would have caused a lot less heartburn plus maybe got a few more bids.

Finally, this a long preamble, although I don't know how much you listed your house for, but I thought, based on Twin Cities prices, that $2,000 in concessions was pretty low. YMMV.

  2. Can any of the hockey knowers explain why Kaprizov has mostly disappeared in this series

    1. The hockey guys on KFAN seem to think he is still not 100%. One example is that on the power play, when they are entering the zone, they are using Johansson to bring the puck in. A tweet this morning showed his numbers pretty quiet against DeBoer.

Personally? I sat right behind the goal we shot at for 2 periods last night. He had some good opportunities and he missed on them. My bigger concern is Zuccarello who just looks awful lately. He looked like a deer in the headlights last night. All that being said, we were the MUCH better team in 5x5 hockey last night. Once again, our special teams let us down. The power play, especially, looked horrible.

      1. Also, with our #1 power play unit. With Ek gone, we have been using Johansson on that unit and bumped Boldy to center. That creates a #1 PP unit in which no one is willing to occupy space in front of the net. We dink around the edges and we really miss Ek camping his butt right in front of the goalie for tips, rebounds and screens. If Ek does not come back, I would move Hartman to that top line. He is willing to get dirty.

          1. If only he had learned to channel his anger through facial expressions instead of wall punching.
