May 3, 2023: Coronation

Gotta admit, I'm not a huge fan of the recent trend of accessories in the dugout for home run hitters. I mean, it's fine, let them have fun. I just think it's a bit silly.

  1. For those who missed the game last night, Dick elaborated on the Twins’ celebration, which was apparently the product of Pablo López’s impression of the clubhouse TVs always featuring fishing shows. López went out to a sporting goods store to look for fishing gear to use, and specifically included a kids’ fishing pole because he wanted the celebration to be friendly to young fans.

I think that’s a pretty stark contrast to the Capone-era Mafioso look of Southsiders’ black overcoat & fedora.

    1. It's essentially the MLB's version of the end zone celebration, but unlike football it's done in the dugout and not the bombastic crotch-grab like most everything NFL.

      1. Silly is absolutely good and fun. Even better when silly is family friendly.

  2. Sterling just called them the Indians again,. And again. And again.

    1. I don't wish anything bad to happen to him, but I'll be very happy when John Sterling retires and I don't have to listen to him on the highlights anymore.
