  1. Went to see/hear The Wallflowers last night. I’m always delighted to see a steel guitar or an organ on stage; not only did they have both, but the guys playing them were excellent. I’m way less familiar with their newer stuff than the album that went supernova almost thirty (Uffda!) years ago, but they played a great show that included a couple Tom Petty covers in the encore and a Richard & Linda Thompson tune in the main set.

And now I’ve seen both Bob & Jakob Dylan.

    1. I’m glad you got to enjoy them too! Saw them with Counting Crows at the MN State Fair last year and both groups seemed happy to be there. Had the good fortune of seeing Bob perform at Midway Stadium* back in 2013.

      *RIP

  2. The company behind the miracle machine has filed for bankruptcy.

The article weirdly blames the success of the product. Me, I am gonna blame the private equity fund that bought it and loaded it up with debt.

  3. Scaffolding in place. Tomorrow, demo. Thursday, crane brings in a new ridge beam. Then new headers and framing for new, lower, arched windows (on order).

    1. remind me again why I retired early? Oh, yea, it was so I could spend all our savings rebuilding this house.

    1. When is Kiriloff due back? And why does rWAR hate him? (Only 0.6 rWAR on the season; -0.9 dWAR).

      1. As a firstbaseman/corner outfielder/DH, he will never have a positive dWAR unless he is an elite fielder. Checking the components, and DRS has him at -5 overall in the field. Checking the positional breakdown, and it's all from first base. I'm not a big fan of DRS (I personally rank them OAA > UZR > DRS), so checking OAA and it agrees Kiriloff is not good at first (-5 outs, so -4 runs).

        1. Huh.

My highly scientific Interocular Pressure Test said he was average or so at first. Maybe I had the Rose Filter turned on? 🤷‍♂️
