  1. Saturday, Glendale lost to the Surprise Saguaros 7-2. Kala'i Rosario was 0-for-4. No other Twin played.

Glendale has quickly dropped to bottom of the standings, starting 1-5.

  2. Man, people are really unhappy the all the underdogs are looking good in their series. Very Important Articles are being written.

    1. Maybe top seeds should get a Manfred Man every other inning as their winning the in season award.

      1. I would much rather flush this postseason format down the toilet than attempt to “fix” it, but if we must have nearly half the teams in the league make it, maybe the team with the best record in each league should get byes until the Championship Series.

What I would strongly prefer, though, is four eight team divisions that meet to play their respective Division(al) Series, with no wild cards. Since that would require expansion, I’d settle for the best record in each league getting a bye until the Championship Series, and the two next-best teams in each league playing a series for the right to advance to the LCS.

    2. I've read a few, and I'm generally rolling my eyes at them. I can acknowledge that 5 days off is maybe a bit too long, but I'd point out Houston obviously came out of the gate strong, so it isn't like rust is a necessity. Plus 4 teams already got eliminated, and I think every single one of them would happily have traded for too many days off. Lower seeds win games sometimes, and Braves fans need to get over it.

    3. If you're going to allow lower-ranked teams into the playoffs, you have to give them a reasonable chance to win. Not necessarily an equal chance, but a reasonable chance. If you don't, the fans of lower-ranked teams are going to stop caring about the playoffs, because they'll know it doesn't mean anything.

      1. Unfortunately it's all about the Benjamins. More wild card teams means more teams eligible to make the playoffs which means more "meaningful" games in September with corresponding increase in ticket sales. More actual wildcard games played means more games on television and increased television rights fees. The problem is that MLB and the east coast media want their cake and eat it too: More $$$ and the cool teams win and advance.

  3. Houston had won 12 straight ALDS games at home.

  4. The last 5 plus years I've watched the MLB playoffs and thought "the Twins aren't even close to these other teams." Mainly due to the fact that most of the successful playoff teams could just throw power arm after power arm against their opponent. Its so fun to see the Twins as a power arm club too. Baseball is weird and things happen but at this point you gotta consider the Twins have just as much chance to reach and win the World Series as any other team. (Although the Rangers look really scary right now).

    1. After watching the Wild Card games, I was really impressed with just how animated the fans were at the stadium, and how loud it was (even through the TV).
Of course, watching the other games going on, other home fans have certainly been loud at times. (except maybe the Rays, but I don't want to beat a dead horse)
However, I still think the Twins fans are on another level. And in my limited watching of the other games, the only other fan base that I feel has the same hunger, is Philly.

That being said, I think Twins Philly could be a very intriguing and captivating event.

      1. Twins and Phillies were also the only two Wild Card teams that had home games and won. Rays and Brewers were the other hosts and they lost. Even going to the Division Series, Philly, Arizona, and Texas (twice!) all won on the road. Houston was the only home winner in the LDS.

    1. 4 games, all 4 favored the opponent. Sure would be nice to have it go the other way. But it hasn't really mattered that much, and that feels even better than having it go the other way.

      1. it feels to me like the Astros players were more visibly angry at the bad calls than the Twins players were, but that would make sense given how the game was going

  5. Just home from the colonoscopy. 3 small polyps.

The process was easy and highly reassuring. Anesthesia was quick out and quick back, with no fog.

    1. He rushed back from TJ surgery to play there when Hoskins tore his ACL because it doesn't require uncorking too many hard throws

  6. It was fun to turn that on just before Riley came up, but those insufferable choppers are the worst. Did you see that had cheerleaders on the dugout after the game leading the chop? I guess they're no longer playing dumb and dumb the fans just do it organically.

    1. Twins ranked third in MLB for home runs this year with 233. The Dodgers were second with 249. The Dodgers would have tied for eighth in 2019 while the Twins would have been 13th. The ball was the juiciest it's ever been.
