  1. Saturday, Estrellas defeated Aguilas 3-0. Eguy Rosario was 2-for-3. Robinson Pina pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits and a walk and striking out four. Jefry Yan (3-0) got the win, giving up one hit in a scoreless inning. Neftali Feliz got the same (9) by pitching a perfect ninth.

Estrelleas did not play Sunday. Miguel Sano has not played for several days, so perhaps he is no longer with the team. That happens a lot in winter ball--players are there for a time--a week, two weeks, a month--and then leave. There's really nothing to read into his absence.

Caribes had a doubleheader with Lara Saturday. In the first game, Caribes scored six runs in the second on their way to an 11-4 victory. Willians Astudillo was 1-for-2. Ricardo Genoves was 3-for-4. Balbino Fuenmayor was 2-for-3 with a home run, his sixth. Tomas Telis was 2-for-3. Luis Sardinas and Jose Azocar were each 2-for-4 with a double. Niuman Romero was 2-for-4. Roy Garcia got the win, retiring both men he faced, one by strikeout.

Caribes could not complete the sweep, falling to Lara in the second game 5-4. Willians Astudillo was used as a pinch-hitter and got a hit. Luis Sardinas and Tomas Telis were each 2-for-4. Emerson Martinez took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in one inning.

  2. pretty interesting trade

    Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal

    The full deal, per @RyanDivish
: Mariners send Kelenic, LHP Marco Gonzales and 1B Evan White to Braves for pitchers Jackson Kowar and Cole Phillips.

and it sounds like Atlanta is going to spin off Marco Gonzales

    1. I believe the Braves more than the Mariners when it comes to evaluating Kelenic. He hasn't been great so far, but he's shown enough that I think in the right environment he'll develop into a good hitter.
