March 13, 2024: Tone Shift

One weird thing on the Tweeter now is a bunch of my ads are just innocuous statements like "hey everyone whats goin on" or "hello world hi" with no links or any other information.

    1. They are labeled as official ads. One reason could I be I block the account of almost every single ad that pops up on my timeline, so I'm only open to the dregs. Heh, they just implemented a window that pops up every time you block an ad account asking if you want to upgrade to Pro instead. It's one more button to push, but I can live with that.

  1. Sometimes I think the Universe likes to see how much I can handle at once. My stepmom had surgery at Mayo for an “unusual” recurrence of cancer following a 2021 bout. So I’ve been staying with her, as she’s the caregiver for one of my brothers. The surgery went well; we’re a week from learning more about her chemo plan.

On Monday, my mom was taken to the ER, where they said she had a stroke, likely a few days earlier. Yesterday that diagnosis was revised to encephalitis cause me by viral infection after a MRI revealed separate infarctions on different sides of her brain. She’s being treated at a small town hospital that’s being vampiristically bled out by some corporate health conglomerate, so their labs are two weeks from everywhere and any specialist is a telehealth provider on a cart nobody seems to have used before.

    1. Oh, man. Something people said that I didn’t internalize over the course of the last year dealing with my FiL was to ensure I was keeping myself both physically and mentally healthy. Thinking about you and yours, CH.

And as to the gutting of rural healthcare.. .. .. many many forbidden zone thoughts. I’ll just leave it there.
