So, between long hours at work and OMG A SOCIAL LIFE for the first time in what feels like 10 years AND west coast games, I haven't paid much attention to the Twins this week. The big hullabaloo is Oswaldo Arcia being DFA'd. Am I supposed to offer a hot taek about this? I don't know I supposed. But really I just don't care. I want players to succeed. Arcia probably plateaued his success as a Twin (in their eyes) and let him go. I do hope he does well. Maybe on a Danny Valencia path of success. I will not boo him. Also, I will not criticize the Twins 15 years later when Arcia is an almost HoFer like David Ortiz. Because that argument is boring. Its baseball, life moves on.
Or, maybe the 2016 Twins are being Nihilists and want to see how far the boundaries can go before everything snaps.

I don't understand taking Dean out at that point. Yes, he didn't pitch well, but after giving up four in the first he put up a zero in the second. The run in the third was two little bouncers in the hole and a ground out--no balls hit hard. Maybe Dean gets a double play and gets out of the inning. Now we're going to burn up four or five relievers in a game that in all likelihood we'll lose anyway.
Didn't the Twins leave Kenny Rogers in for a long time once or twice when he was getting pummeled and the bullpen was tired?
I'm with you, save some arms at this point. What are the chances Molitor ends up using multiple relievers in an inning at some point to burn the pen a little more?
I didn't really think Ozzie Guillen was a very good manager, but what I did like was that when his team was way behind early, he would usually keep the starting pitcher in as long as he was getting outs. He'd make them use up their allotment. There wasn't much point in trying to use the bullpen to prevent further runs when you're already down 5 or 6 runs. Also, this is why we have an 8-man bullpen and "had to" DFA Arcia.

The Twins have such bad luck. Other teams' batters always get hot just when they play them.
I gotta say, I love the idea of Buxton, but at this stage in his career, he misses "his pitch" more often than just about any batter I've ever seen.

Agreed. If Milone had started his career with the Twins, he would be in untouchable veteran status by now anyways. His career ERA+ of 97 matches Duffey and is only 1 point behind Santana. Also a bit better than Hughes and much better than Nolasco.
Right. I know with more strikeouts these days that pitch counts go up faster. But the Twins don't strike anyone out.
