Two of these teams get to face each other Friday. The other two get to console themselves that they at least weren't swept.

  1. This is insane. The first out was a sac bunt by the second batter. The second out was by the No. 3 batter but not until his second PA of the inning and the score was 9-0.

  2. Imagine if the Twins had an ace like Kershaw to come out of the bullpen against the Yankees...

    1. Why imagine it. Don’t they already have plenty of relievers who could give up back to back homers?

  3. The Rocket Mortgage commercial plays tricks with my mind every time it comes on. I'm never paying much attention, so I first hear Dylan and immediately think Lebowski is somehow on tv Then, Gob Bluth starts narrating rather than Sam Elliot and the cognitive dissonance really kicks in.

  4. Dodgers have 12 walk-off wins this year, so if they win, it would be appropriate that they do it in walk-off fashion. Nats have been walked off 5 times this year, which is fewer than I expected considering how bad their bullpen has been.

  5. I actually had the thought before this inning started that we had a 10-run inning to start the day. Can we have a 10-run inning to finish it? 4 runs in so far and no outs.

  6. Can you imagine if the Nats had celebrated winning the series on the field and then the play was overturned on replay and they had to go back and get one more out still?
