TOLEDO 8, ST. PAUL 2 IN TOLEDO

Riley Greene hit a two-run homer in the third to give the Mud Hens the lead and Aderlin Rodriguez hit a grand slam in the seventh to put it out of reach.

Batting stars:  Tomas Telis was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.  Drew Maggi was 2-for-4.

Pitching star:  Bryan Sammons struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

Opposition stars:  Greene was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer (his eighth), a walk, and two runs.  Kody Clemens was 2-for-5.  Ricardo Pinto struck out eight in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and four walks.

Starter:  Beau Burrows pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks and striking out four.

Good stats:  Jose Miranda was 1-for-5 and is batting .345.

Bad stats:  Burrows has an ERA of 5.10.  Sammons has an ERA of 6.61.  Robinson Leyer allowed four runs in a third of an inning and has an ERA of 6.95.

Record:  The Saints are 5-3 in the "final stretch", tied for seventh in the AAA East, three games behind Durham.
