  1. I feel a little sorry for the Royals starter--but not enough to hope he starts getting people out.

    1. I don't think the people at ESPN care very much about baseball. And, unfortunately, the ratings kind of justify that.

      1. Also, I think TBS has the rights to a Sunday afternoon baseball package, so maybe ESPN couldn't have aired a game even if they wanted to.

  2. Yankees won so no four-way tie. Mariners down four runs and Red Sox tied late so still possiblity for a tie between Jays and Red Sox.

  3. I'm surprised the Twins managed to miss 90 wins losses. They finish in last place of the division, a single game behind the Royals.

  4. Twins season in 20-game chunks:

    Games 143-162 - 10-10
    Games 123-142 - 9-11
    Games 103-122 - 11-9
    Games 83-102 - 9-11
    Games 63-82 - 9-11
    Games 43-62 - 11-9
    Games 23-42 - 7-13
    Games 3-22 - 6-14

  5. The Yankees and Red Sox clinching at the expense of the Blue Jays and Mariners is preeeeetty much the worst baseball birthday I’ve ever had. Well…at least one of them will only get one postseason game…?
