So the heat generated by the Twins taking the Jaspers to the White Sox nor the smoking hot men's sports weekend wasn't enough to warm Minnesota's temperatures so we will have another chilly night at Target Field for the Tigers. I'd like to hit a game soon but could at least like something in the 60s.
Tigers in town for the first time this year with Miguel Cabrera in the 3000 hit, 500 homer club. The Tigers should start to be a little better this year although their 6-9 start isn't so nice.
LHP Eduardo Rodriguez (0-1, 5.27) for the Tigers and RHP Chris Paddack (0-2, 5.00) for the Twins. The Twins have scored exactly zero runs in games that Paddack has pitched in so hopefully that changes tonight.
First Pitch at 6:40. Bring a warm coat if you go to the game.
Twins Lineup
DH - Buxton
SS - Correa
2B - Polanco
LF - Garlick
3B - Urshela
RF - Kepler
1B - Sano
C - Jeffers
CF - Celestino
Thought I'd watch a game for the first time this year instead of listening, so through the magic of [transmission lost] I've got the ol'powder blues on the big screen. Go Twins
Max knows how to defeat the shift
Morneau on the pitch Kepler drilled off the right field wall, “Well, when you try to sneak cheese by a rat one too many times…”
Sano, still slumping
Sano is so bad.
At this rate, I wonder if he’s got a roster spot by mid-June.
indeed. Time to move on.
I am remembering Batista celebrating a huge walkoff win and then getting DFAd the next day
Ahh, good times. (nobody liked the results)
Have they said why Twins are not using pitchcom today?
Seems to be a pitcher preference thing with other clubs, but I haven’t been tracking if Paddack was using it in his previous outings.
You love to see it.
MAX
Max power!
MAXIMUM POWER!
Max effort
Nice progression
Paddack looking really good tonight.
I like his pace out there on the mound, too.
Gray's gonna have a tough job getting back onto this staff when he comes back.
A good, pleasantly surprising problem to have.
I’m not enthusiasric about the impending 14-man pitching staff on a 26-man roster.
Gardy just got chills.
13 pitcher limit this year
I think Dick had mentioned they expanded that to 14.
The 13 pitcher limit won’t go into effect until Memorial Day.
I'll be at the last game where a 14 man staff is allowed then!
You're going to miss out on zooomie's caucus then!
Heh, getting to MSP is about as close as time allows me to get.
Man, I’d really love to go to the caucus, but 17 hours round trip is a long day.
We should have a mini-caucus at a Crew game.
Sounds good to me.
Coulda been worse.
Organ interference!
Grossman walks. *drink*
Crap.
Pumpkin.
Twins gave up a lead changing HR and 5 minutes later Ja nails a layup for a win against the Wolves
Wild gave up a go-ahead goal in that time too. Or darn near.
Man I love Luis
Shame to waste an Arráez pinch-walk that way.
Kepler hit is second double of the season to score a run and hit his second home run of the season to score two more. Báez hit his second double of the season to score a run and hit his second home run of the season to score three more. I would appreciate the symmetry more if they swapped home runs.
Okay, how interesting can we make this?
That was a ball, Blue.
I’d pinch hit for Sanó here.
Sano's running brain fart wins the game OMG
More like brain diarrhea — he got the runs!
😆
Well played
TWINS BASEBALL!!TWINS BASEBALL!!!!TWINS BASEBALL!!!
well that went from "Sano you dumbass" to "Twins win" quick.
Well, that kinda works
Oh, that was well-deserved after those other Minnesota sports moments. Yay sporps!
First time over .500!
What was Larnach doing? He should have scored easily on that. No reason to tag up there with one out. Terrible baserunning all around.
"Learning moment"
Oh dang -- Royals shutout Sox, that's 8 straight now.
I like this Sox team but I want them to lose 100 and embarrass LaRussa into retirement
We're still on track for 154-8!
