Pete came back home after spending a few weeks with grandpa and grandma. While it was nice to have a break from the screaming brothers act they normally put up, it's also nice to have him home.

Former Twins legend Alex Cole passed away
I just read that. Only 58 years old.
According to the MLBTR obit, Cole stole 148 bases and connected for 493 hits in his career, making the swipe total 30.02% of his career hit total. He successfully stole in 20.64% his 717 career TOB. Total junk stats, but I still wonder how those two rates sit for players with more than 100SB and fewer than 750 hits or 1000 TOB.
I hope “recently passed away” doesn’t mean he died on his birthday. B-ref has not yet amended his player card and lists him as 58-002d old.
Cole (reportedly) died the 19th, two days after his 58th birthday. Way too young.
More Alex Cole
Apparently he had some hard times and bad decisions after his career.
If my math is right, Rickey! reached 5,343 times (not counting RoEs) and stole 1,406 times (26.3 pct of ToB).
But he hit 297 HRs. No chance of stealing on those. So more like 27.87 pct.
Hey now - Alex hit 5 HRs. We should orobably be removing triples too
If Willi Castro can steal home....
Rickey and Alex don't have Willi's guile - Henderson only swiped four
The Jamesian observation that Rickey! was two HoF players in one somehow reliably understates how incredible he was.
We’re pretty lucky to have seen him and Ohtani in the same lifetime.
Flooring is easy but it sucks. But, the house is now carpet free.
We are heading in that direction, probably next year (assuming bonus targets are met). I would like to keep carpet in the bedroom, though, since that's the one room where I tend to go barefoot.
We will be also going carpet free soon because pets.
Or more specifically, cats.
I hear that. We've had pets since we moved in here so there was Killz applied to the sub floor.
We're probably 35% hardwood, but I'd love to replace the upstairs carpeting like we did the downstairs. Also, the two robovacs rule.
All hardwood downstairs (except for tile in bathroom). Poorly stretched W2W upstairs except bathrooms).
The Mrs would get rid of it. But I want at least some carpet, for the reason Twayn mentioned. Plus, I do a lot of my stretches and core exercises on the floor. Hardwood sucks for that, even with a yoga mat.
Ooh I forgot tile! I tiled three bathrooms and an entry; those probably sealed my hips' fate
I saw my first live drone show after the game last night. Some very cool effects, although I'm pretty sure a few of those things fell from the sky, it was pretty darn windy.
They looked slick on the FB feed
The Yankees have lost 7 games in a row. Wowza
You love to see it
And are now 60-63.
No! NOT ENOUGH YET!
I think it was in "Ball Four" that Jim Bouton wrote about the 1965 Yankees. They didn't look very good in spring training, but they weren't worried. They knew they were going to win the pennant. They got off to a slow start at the beginning of the season, but they weren't worried. They knew they were going to win the pennant. They continued to not play very well, but they still weren't worried. They knew they were going to win the pennant. Then, somewhere along the line, it became obvious that they weren't going to win the pennant, but instead of playing hard and trying to finish second or third they threw in the towel and finished sixth. Perhaps history is repeating itself.
Heh.
Captain Video was gone far too soon.
