Here is my entrance for the Best of 2024 series. I don't have much to say about it other than I've listened to it a bunch of times. Definite top 10 energy. Vibes galore.

I intended to have some more hopeful positive songs to finish out the week. Not how the week went but here is my last installment.
I don't know why I like this one so much, but its on my running list so I hear it a lot.
Bonus Videos because I can:
And with that I'm:
I forgot to throw this up last night. It has been ... a week. Throw up your lists in the comments, but if you want to admit it what's your guilty pleasure song that you defend for no reason.
For me it's Ringo's Beatles songs because I find it hilarious, and Call Me Maybe because of DC memories playing Kickball.
My last video will be up later today when I find a video of it.
Happy Friday.
KennyHoopla scratches my bloc party itch.
Because I wanna.
Live version
Last live show I attended was Cold War Kids at First Ave. My ID was expired but besides that nonsense that it was a fantastic show. They were touring this album and like everyone they have another pandemic LP coming out soon. This isn't my favorite of their songs but seems appropriate. There was a time that I pretty much only listened to CWK and Bloc Party and it was great.
Bonus favorite song.
Hey there citizens. Guess I'll be doing these for the week. I mostly listen to Alternative and Punk type music pop or otherwise. I haven't really thought through this week but I'm thinking the Bouncing Souls, Cold War Kids, and the Implants are likely going to pop up.
I listened to this Spanish Love Songs A LOT in 2020. It seems appropriate for todays video after another police shooting in the area. I live near Cup foods and Lake Street and the wounds and damaged buildings are a constant reminder of where we are both as a city and society. So yeah this song still seems on point.
“It won’t be this bleak forever."
Yeah right.
I hope you’re right.
Have you seen me lately?
No CoC, so here one is. Good luck to both teams.
Any predictions?
Figured I had better get this post up since it's not that long of a book.

Amazon (Note that if you buy the kindle Canadian version, the price drops to $4, and if you are in Canada it is public domain)
Anyway, I'll start some threads for those who want to talk about chapters as they go along.
If you want to plan ahead for library reasons, we'll do Wintering by Peter Geye next month.
Alright if we're going to do this we better pick a book.
CoC listed:
Warlock - Oakley Hall (471 pages)
The Maltese Falcon - Dashiell Hammett (213 pages)
The Good War - Studs Terkel (608 pages)
Killing Floor - Lee Child (525 pages)
Old Man's War - John Scalzi (332 pages)
The Plover - Brian Doyle (311 pages)
Watership Down - Richard Adams (478 pages)
BrianS listed:
"Elizabeth Moon's The Speed of Dark lists at 370, but that's a paperback and it reads pretty fast"
I'm going to throw in:
Peter Geye's Wintering (320 pages)
So let's go with those. If you plan to participate in some fashion (or not, why police that right?) vote in the comments* for your top three in ranked order.
I'll tabulate the results on Thursday. Hopefully, we won't have a tie, but if we do I'll just use random.org to choose from those.
