My friend Andrew, who was given a very grim diagnosis last week, has woken up. He's very forgetful so far (and extremely hungry) but otherwise seems to be himself. Win one for the good guys.

Last night the girls had their school program. It really doesn't feel like more than a few weeks since the last one.

My Friday is a long opening shift followed by the end-of-the-year school program, and my Saturday is a three-hour morning meeting, a short break and a long closing shift. Weekends are dumb.

Sleep sounds like a good coffee substitute right now.  Sick kids all week.

This is normally where I reference more lyrics from The Who's "5:15," but it feels like I just did that, so now all I can think about is how brutally quick this school year went and how my kids are going to be grown up and gone soon. Sigh.

IT'S ALL HAPPENIIIIIING

Yesterday was another rough emotional day in a pretty sucky May, but a day late I want to recognize all the mothers in the nation. Okay, there's only one, so Pepper, consider yourself recognized!

Last night I learned that a friend from Best Buy in Apple Valley woke up unresponsive yesterday and is fighting for his life at the U of M. He's maybe 24 or 25, and is universally loved. Ugh.
