If the Twins didn't suck this year, would it inhibit my search for work and home in LA? I think it would.

This impending move to LA is coming together better than I could have hoped, and I already have several opportunities down there. That's the benefit of having contacts who have contacts.

I hereby offer a big, hearty thank you to those who have emailed, commented or otherwise well-wished about my being laid off (and, unfortunately, some of you can relate). I think it'll all come together, but the uncertainty in between is just...nightmare fuel.

I'm losing track of the number of games this season we could classify as "heartbreakers."

I have nothing to say about the Diamondback series.

I will spend all day giving long, rambling interviews in Macho Man Randy Savage's voice. For the rest of the week, I assume I won't be able to talk.

Today the Twins have another chance for their first four-game winning streak of the season. The Diamondbacks seem as good an opponent as any.

sorry, i was up late placating attending to a pregnant member of our household (and keeping one eye on the game). not sure what kept scarydairy. anyway, in relation to our discussions of the new parenthood column (you're up next week, rob), i hear there's a great new children's book coming out sooon.

Well, we won one for Harmon. Let's win several more for him.
