Happy Friday Music People! I hope that you are enjoying the fine weather out there in Music Land! Why don't we start things off with everyone telling us ten songs that show up on a "random" or "shuffle" feature of their music device or service of their choice? Then we can just riff from there, ya dig?

FMD: December 28, 2012

No post so far today, so I'll pinch hit for AMR. I'm guessing a super special Best of 2012 post will be forthcoming in the next few days.

The Runner family is enjoying a free month of Hulu Plus, and I've listened to a few concert films and music-related documentaries during work. One I particularly enjoyed was 2008 SXSW Film Festival Audience Award winner Béla Fleck: Throw Down Your Heart, in which Béla is in Africa exploring the origins of the banjo, and reintroducing it to the peoples there. There is some awesome music from many different countries featuring several different styles and instruments. Check it out if you get the chance.

Throw down your random 10 lists!

FMD: Dec 14, 2012

Keep your powder dry on your "Best of" lists please. We'll either do that on Dec. 28 or Jan 4. So far, I'm thinking Dec 28.
I have no idea what I'll have. This was the year I stopped following P4K, so I don't even know what came out or what was big. Maybe I can figure something out in a two weeks (unlikely).

Friday Music Day: Nov 16, 2012

Writing fast...
1. Soundgarden was my first favorite band, my first rock t-shirt, and I only got to see them live in concert once: at Lollapalooza in Des Moines. Now, they've reunited and are touring, hitting Minneapolis on Feb. 2. At the Orpheum! So excited, I don't even mind that tix are $60. On sale Saturday at noon.

1b. Haven't even listened to their new album, hope it doesn't suck.

2. Dolfish on the Thursday after Thanksgiving at Amsterdam Bar & Hall in St. Paul. $6. I'll buy you a beer or pay your cover if you come.

3. Placeholders for personal messages to Algonad and CanOfCorn.
