Spanning the Globe

Not much globe to span today.  No games in the Puerto Rican or Australian Leagues, and none of the games in the Mexican or Venezuelan Leagues involved Twins players.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Escogido 8, Cibao 2 in Cibao.  Pedro Florimon was 1-for-3 with a run for Escogido.  Alexi Casilla was 3-for-4 with a double and two runs for Cibao.  Wilkin Ramirez pinch hit and was 0-for-1 for Cibao.

DOMINICAN LEAGUE

Saturday

Escogido 10, Cibao 6 in Escogido.  Pedro Florimon was 0-for-2 with two walks for Escogido.  Francisco Liriano started for Escogido and pitched two-thirds of an inning, surrendering three runs on four hits and two walks.

Sunday

Aguilas 3, Escogido 2 in Aguilas.  Pedro Florimon was 0-for-3 for Escogido.

Licey 3, Cibao 2 in Licey (10 innings).  Alexi Casilla was 2-for-6 with a run and an RBI for Cibao.

PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE

Saturday

Mayaguez 10, Caguas 1 in Mayaguez.  Daniel Ortiz was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Mayaguez.  Eddie Rosario pitch hit and struck out for Mayaguez.

Sunday

Caguas 4, Mayaguez 0 in Mayaguez.  Aaron Bates was 0-for-4 for Caguas.  Daniel Ortiz was 1-for-3 for Mayaguez.  Nelvin Fuentes gave up a hit but no runs in two-thirds of an inning for Mayaguez.

VENEZUELAN LEAGUE

Saturday

Magallanes 11, Zulia 10 in Magallanes.  The score was 6-1 after eight; Zulia scored nine in the top of the ninth and Magallanes scored five in the bottom of the ninth.  Pedro Guerra struck out four in 1.2 scoreless innings for Magallanes, giving up a hit and a walk.

Aragua 5, Anzoategui 2 in Anzoategui.  Lester Oliveros allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk while striking out one in one inning.

Sunday

Aragua 5, Anzoategui 3 in Anzoategui.  Lester Oliveros worked a perfect inning for Anzoategui.

AUSTRALIAN LEAGUE

Saturday

Perth 8, Canberra 7 in Canberra (Game 1—11 innings).  Luke Hughes was 1-for-1 with a walk as a reserve for Perth.

Brisbane 9, Melbourne 3 in Brisbane.  Sam Gibbons struck out one in a scoreless inning for Melbourne, giving up a hit and a walk.

Sunday

Sydney 6, Adelaide 4 in Sydney.  Jacob Younis was 3-for-4 and scored once for Sydney.  Todd Van Steensel struck out three in two perfect innings for Sydney.

Canberra 3, Perth 2 in Canberra.  Tim Atherton struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up just two hits for Canberra.
