Getting to that age where, despite not doing anything strenuous, I wake up and everything hurts. Going on my second day of strong back pain without really doing anything to earn it. Good times!

2024 Game Log 157 – Marlins at Twins
Last Tuesday game log of the 2024 season and the Twins struggling for a playoff spot AND get to play the lowly Marlins at home for three games. What could go wrong? Well, how much time do you have? I could go on for paragraphs about the ass bats, then throw in injuries, bullpen productivity....
Bailey Ober on the mound for the Twins and it's been a really nice breakout season for him. The Twins will need to see that continue tonight and maybe later this weekend too if they want to scootch by the Royals and Tigers. Ryan Weather for the Marlins and he's just one of those guys that pitch for a team that will probably lose a 100 games.
First pitch at 6:40 and actually looks like great weather for this whole stretch, maybe get out to the park one last time this year?

The Stranglers – Golden Brown
I think HJ played them before, but it's been 12 years, and it was the old video format that doesn't seem to be working, and I dig this song. And it's featured in Snatch, which is a fave for me. "Tommy - the tit - is praying. And if he isn't, he f___ing should be."
September 24, 2024: Sleepover
The boy had a sleepover at his karate dojo over the weekend. I was thinking about some similar events I had at that age and how formative they can be. I still remember several of them pretty vividly.

Blur – Tender
Hey all! The boy was in a local dance company’s summer program and one of the groups put Tender in their number. Older song that was new to me. I love the vibe and there’s been a fair bit of “Tender Radio” on Spotify since then.
September 23, 2024: The Last Place You Look
Before this year's eclipse I was trying to find the glasses that I still had from the last eclipse. I knew they were in the garage somewhere, but couldn't find them after tearing through everything. They were nicer ones too (plastic frames instead of paper). I eventually gave up an ordered new ones before they all sold out. Naturally I just found them again. They somehow ended up in a box of random grilling implements. Oh well. Guess I better save them for 2044*!
*There's one in Japan in 2035 that I might consider trying to get to.
