COLUMBUS CLIPPERS 7, ST. PAUL SAINTS 6 IN COLUMBUS

St. Paul led 6-3 through seven, but Micah Pries hit a three-run homer in the eighth and Johnathan Rodriguez homered in the ninth.

Multi-hit gamesPayton Eeles was 2-for-2 with three walks.  Diego Castillo was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and three RBIs.  Jeferson Morales was 2-for-4 with a double.  Carson McCusker was 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs.

TULSA DRILLERS 5, WICHITA WIND SURGE 3 IN WICHITA

Tulsa scored all of their runs in the third inning to lead 5-0.

Multi-hit games:  Aaron Sabato was 2-for-4.

Home runs:  Kala'i Rosario (8).

Multi-RBI games:  None.

Stolen bases:  None.

Pitching prowess:  Mike Paredes struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  John Stankiewicz struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Miguel Rodriguez pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Loss:  Christian MacLeod (1-2).

Opposition standout:  Jared Karros struck out three in three perfect innings.

Record:  Wichita is 25-40, in fifth (last) place, sixteen games behind Arkansas and Springfield.

2024 Game 146: Angels of Anaheim at Minnesota Twins

One game isn't enough to cleanse the ineptitude of the prior week but it's certainly nice to see.

This is Kochanowicz's rookie season and he has an interesting pitching line so far. He's pitched 38 ⅔ innings and struck out merely 12. To be fair to him, he spent the first four months of the season in AA. He hasn't been terrible, but duplicating Nick Blackburn's line in 2024 is a tough thing to do.

Minor Details: Games of September 10

ST. PAUL SAINTS 7, COLUMBUS CLIPPERS 4 IN COLUMBUS

St. Paul scored six in the third to take a 6-1 lead.

Multi-hit games:  Jeferson Morales was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Yunior Severino was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.

Home runs:  Diego Castillo (8).

Multi-RBI games:  Anthony Prato 2 (28).

Stolen bases:  Castillo (12).

Pitching prowess:  Kody Funderburk pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.  Randy Dobnak pitched five innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks and striking out two.

Win:  Dobnak (12-6).

Opposition standout:  Triston McKenzie struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Record:  St. Paul is 30-34, tied for seventh with Toledo, 10.5 games behind Columbus.

TULSA DRILLERS 5, WICHITA WIND SURGE 4 IN WICHITA

Jose Ramos hit a two-run homer in a three-run eighth that gave Tulsa a 5-3 lead.

Multi-hit games:  Ben Ross was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Multi-RBI games:  Ross Dunn 2 (35).

Stolen bases:  Ross (19).

Pitching prowess:  Jaylin Nowlin struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks.  Jacob Wosinski struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Cody Laweryson pitched a perfect inning.

Loss:  Regi Grace (1-4).

Opposition standout:  Ramos was 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two RBIs.

Record:  Wichita is 25-39, in fifth (last) place, fifteen games behind Arkansas and Springfield.
