"A Change Is Gonna Come" was released 50 years ago this week. Though a singularly beautiful song, releasing it was a dangerous career move at the time; something which is thankfully strange for us to think about nowadays (pretty cool write-up here). I would have loved to have found a performance of that song, unfortunately it was performed live only once, and Mr. Cooke was killed shortly after. In it's a place, here's a song that old Robbie Zimmerman wrote which Sam immediately picked up on.
