Minor Details: Games of August 18

SAINTS 8, INDIANS 5 IN ST. PAUL

Indianapolis scored four in the seventh to tie it 5-5, but Austin Martin hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh.

Martin was 2-for-3 with a home run (his fourth), a walk, two runs, and four RBIs.
DaShawn Keirsey was 2-for-3 with a walk.
Anthony Prato was 2-for-4 with a triple, a walk, and two RBIs.
Brooks Lee was 2-for-5.
Andrew Stevenson hit a home run, his fifteenth.

Joe Ryan struck out seven in four innings, giving up one run on one hit and two walks.
Brent Headrick pitched four innings, allowing four runs on three hits and a walk and striking out four.
Oliver Ortega struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.

WIND SURGE 5, CARDINALS 4 IN WICHITA

Wichita scored two in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.  Springfield had the tying run on third with one out in the ninth.

Seth Gray was 2-for-4.
Alex Isola hit a two-run homer, his seventeenth.

Marco Raya struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

KERNELS 6, TIMBER RATTLERS 4 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Cedar Rapids scored three in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead.

Jeferson Morales was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Cory Lewis pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks and striking out five.
John Stankiewicz pitched 3.2 innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk and striking out two.
Jarret Whorff struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 13, CARDINALS 8 IN PALM BEACH

Trailing 8-6, Fort Myers scored seven runs in the ninth.  Luke Keaschall hit a three-run homer and Danny De Andrade hit a two-run homer in the inning.

Jay Harry was 4-for-5 with three runs.
Ricardo Olivar was 4-for-6 with two doubles.
De Andrade was 2-for-5 with a home run (his ninth) and four RBIs.
Keaschall hit a three-run homer.

FCL TWINS 1, FCL RED SOX 0 AT TWINS (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

A wild pitch scored the game's lone run in the first.

The Twins had five hits and no one had more than one.

DSL NATIONALS 3, DSL TWINS 3 (6 INNINGS--RAIN)

The Twins scored two in the sixth to tie it at three.  The tying run scored on a wild pitch.  Nothing indicates that it is a suspended game, so we assume it will simply be a tie.

The Twins had one hit and drew five walks.  The Nationals made four errors.

Miguel Cordero pitched 4.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk and striking out five.
Luis Rincon struck out three and walked one in 1.1 scoreless innings.

WIND SURGE 5, CARDINALS 1 IN WICHITA

Alex Isola homered in the third to give Wichita a 3-0 lead.

These guys are ready for Minnesota.  Two solo homers and ten strikeouts.

FORT MYERS AT PALM BEACH

The game was suspended after four innings with Palm Beach leading 5-4.  We assume it was raining really hard, since they did not try to get the top of the fifth in to make it an official game.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 19-20, in third place in the Texas League North, one game behind first-place Springfield, a half-game behind second-place Northwest Arkansas.
The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 26-16, in first place in the Midwest League West, one game ahead of Peoria.
The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 18-24, tied for fifth in the Florida State League West with Dunedin, ten games behind first-place Lakeland.

Walker Jenkins hit a grand slam in the third and the Twins added four in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead.  The Rays closed to 8-6 in the seventh and each team scored once in the ninth.
