I take a pretty hands off approach to music with the boy. I generally blandly compliment anything he likes (which I usually don't) and rarely push any of my own stuff on him. I always figured if I pushed my own tastes on him, he'd make sure to purposefully go in his own direction and start listen to some really shitty stuff. That said, I certainly play lots of my music, though without comment. If he asks for more info, I'll give it to him, but I definitely take a more passive approach. His tastes are currently pretty different from mine, but sometimes I score one. For example, he's into Phoebe Bridgers now at least.
