The Temptations – I Wish It Would Rain
Someone said something about painting and rainy days, and, well, these fly dudes have something to say about it. I totes balls you too, bootsy.
Bohren & der Club of Gore – On Demon Wings
German TV, 2012
Self-described "doom ridden jazz music" from the German band. The darkest of noir. Their album Sunset Mission (another fave to paint rainy day scenes to.)

Deathprod – Treetop Drive
Oslo, Norway, 2014
A big shout-out to Will Oldham for making me aware of the dark ambient music of Norwegian artist Helge Sten, who goes by the moniker Deathprod. The whole of "Treetop Drive" is three movements that clock in at over a half an hour. This is a truncated version. This became one of my favorite pieces to paint to last winter. I also nicked part of it for a short film I put together last Fall.

Chris Harford & The Band of Changes –
Live in Philly, 2006. Epic in scope. His childhood buddy Micky Melchiondo* plays some wicked guitar on this.
Kind of a cult figure from Pennsylvania, I was first turned on to Mr. Harford when Peter Jesperson used to play his record Be Headed on the old REV105. It's long been an unsung favorite of mine.
