Minor Details: Games of 7/14

Buffalo 5, Rochester 3 in Buffalo.  The Bisons scored two in the first and three in the fifth.  Brandon Roberts had three singles and a double.  Jeff Bailey singled and tripled.  Starter Thomas Diamond gave up four runs on five hits and sis walks in 4.1 innings.

New Britain 5, Portland 4 in Portland.  The Rock Cats scored in the eighth to break a 4-4 tie.  Yangervis Solarte had two doubles and a single to raise his average to .333.  Steve Hirschfeld worked six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and a walk.  Andrew Albers got the win with two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Tyler Robertson pitched a scoreless ninth, giving up a hit and a walk, to get his tenth save.

Daytona 5, Ft. Myers 2 in Ft. Myers (10 innings).  The Miracle scored in the bottom of the ninth to tie the score at 2-2, but the Cubs came back with three in the tenth.  Oswaldo Arcia and Anderson Hidalgo each had two hits, with Arcia raising his average to .315.  Tom Stuifbergen gave up one run on nine hits in five innings, walking none and striking out four.  Edgar Ibarra pitched three shutout innings, giving up four hits and a walk.  Matt Hauser allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three in 1.2 innings to take the loss.

Beloit 6, South Bend 3 in Beloit.   The Snappers scored four in the fourth to go ahead 5-0.  Lance Ray and Jhonatan Arias each singled and doubled.  Adrian Salcedo gave up two unearned runs in seven innings, allowing five hits and walking none.

Elizabethton 5, Pulaski 4 in Elizabethton.  The Twins led 4-0 after six but needed a run in the seventh to break a 4-4 tie.  Justin Parker singled and doubled in his Appalachian League debut.  Matthew Bashore gave up three hits and a walk, striking out three in three innings.  Derek Christensen got the win despite allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits in one innings.  Madison Boer retired all five men he faced, striking out three, to get the save.

GCL Orioles 3, Twins 0 at Twins.  The Twins had only two hits.  Starter Ricardo Arevalo allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk in three innings.  Markus Solbach pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits.

DSL Padres 12, Twins 3 at Twins.  The Padres scored multiple runs in four innings, capping it off with four in the ninth.  Jose Ramirez and Adonis Pacheco each had two hits.  Sterling Bonilla took the loss, giving up a run on two hits and two walks while striking out four in four innings.  Randy Rosario struck out three in 1.1 innings, but surrendered four runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks.
