Minor Details: Games of 8/14

Columbus at Rochester.  Postponed.

New Britain 3, Bowie 0 in Bowie (Game 1--Scheduled 7 innings).  The Rock Cats scored in the third, fifth, and sixth.  Chris Parmelee and Evan Bigley each singled and doubled.  Brian Dozier hit a home run and is now batting .315.  Spencer Steedley struck out four in four innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  Deolis Guerra got the win with three innings of relief, giving up just one hit.

New Britain 6, Bowie 1 in Bowie (Game 2--Scheduled 7 innings).  The Rock Cats built a 4-0 lead after three.  Deibinson Romero had two singles and a homer, his eleventh.  Mike Hollimon singled and tripled.  Joe Benson hit his eleventh homer.  Brett Jacobson worked four innings, giving up a run on four hits.  Tyler Robertson got the win with three innings of relief, striking out six while giving up three hits.

Palm Beach 9, Ft. Myers 3 in Ft. Myers.  The Cardinals scored three in the second and led all the way.  The Miracle had just four hits.  Tom Stuifbergen allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and a walk in five innings. 

Burlington 3, Beloit 0 in Beloit.  The Bees scored all their runs in the fifth.  The Snappers out-hit the Bees 8-6.  Adam Bryant had two hits.  A. J. Achter gave up three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out seven in six innings.  Sam Spangler struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

Johnson City 6, Elizabethton 4.  The Twins led 3-2 after five, but a three run sixth gave the Cardinals the win.  Eddie Rosario and Matt Parker each had two hits.  JaDamion Williams hit a three-run homer and is batting .336.  David Hurlbut allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk in six innings.

GCL Twins.  No game scheduled.

DSL Twins 4, Orioles 0.  The Twins scored two in the fifth to break a scoreless tie.  Two pitchers combined on a one-hitter.  Adonis Pacheco singled and doubled.  Jose Ramirez had two hits.  Jose Abreu worked six hitless innings, walking two.  Felix Jorge gave up a hit and a walk in three innings, striking out three.  The lone Oriole hit came leading off the eighth.
