I had to take a small nap during half time last night that extended about 8 minutes into the third quarter but I watched the end of the game last night on East Coast time. I think I am really falling for this team. As many of you on the site know I have always considered myself and "NBA fan" but never really had an affiliation towards a team until I started hanging out in these parts. Seeing Stick's love of the Wolves, warts and all, was kind of contagious and I started to monitor the team a little more closely. And though I am still looking for proof, there are rumors that I said I would move to the Twin Cities if the Wolves drafted Rubio in 2009. Well, the Wolves drafted Rubio and while I am still here in Buffalo, I am watching this team with much more interest than I have watched with any of my local teams in some time.
I know I volunteered myself to the Wolves last season when I made my formal decision to take my fandom to the Twin Cities. But I will admit, as the season wore on, my interest waned. I found myself watching more Oklahoma City, Trailblazers, or Heat games than anything else.. This season, well, I don't think I am going to run into that problem.
Bonus points for a Wolves win tonight as Minnesota has Utah's first round pick in the next draft!
no local tv tonight (Hockey Day in Minnesota is on FSN, although its more like 'Hockey Day in the Twins Cities and a few Northern Minnesota Towns' because once again FSN refuses to acknowledge any hockey south of Lakeville)
Hopefully the game will be on league pass. Last night's game really gave me the itch.
We should have the Jazz feed tonight. There was a game last year in Memphis where neither team was broadcasting the game so we were treated to the in arena camera feed that would often show in game highlights instead of actual live action. Cheaptoy should remember that game, I think.
I think I do remember that. I also think I remember being annoyed that I couldn't just watch the in-arena camera with no other sounds but the arena.
I believe the announcers were from NBA tv's production truck. It was pretty bad.
There's gotta be a powder for that, yeah?
But on a serious note, this is the first time in years that I have actively anticipated watching Wolves games.
yeah, i'm willing to sip a little kool-aid©.
Yep, getting the Jazz feed. This game has a lot to live up to.
I predict BAJ scores 20 and gives up 25.
Wes Johnson?!
I think Adelman probably punched him in the face in practice and said "quite being a pussy out there."
I'm willing to make a bet that's exactly how it went down.
Wes is starting to step up his game a bit.
The NBA Trade Machine on espn was down for two weeks. It started working again on Wednesday. Since that time he has started playing like he doesn't want to be traded.
Or maybe playing like he wants to increase his trade value?
I'm fine with having him play better. That's better than having to trade him anyway. 🙂
Derek Williams is going with the one handed dunks tonight, I see.
I like this Williams kid.
stupid Pek! offensive foul...check
That last Rubio three was such a heads up play. This kid is legit.
Rubio is doing everything he can to make Pek look good tonight. Sometimes Pek helps out.
This is some poop-tacular defensive rebounding.
You know, Ellington sucks somewhat less than he used to.
Nice.
From 3!
Gennifer Goodwin is a babe.
I had a dream last night that she guest starred on our show, and she and I became friends. She started playing Werewolf at Casa de Leche, and then made a video, wearing a WGOM shirt, and finished by saying "Suck it, nibbish!"
It's inevitable.
I'd play werewolf with here...ALL...NIGHT...LONG!
*her
i'll admit to always having had a weird thing for chloë sevigny.
She seems like a 6 kind of gal.
So one other face should be Rubio. What about the other two, Williams and ?
In all fairness to those kids texting in the commerical no one could have expected a giant LOL in the middle of the road.
ad on the radio right now 'FSN is you home to catch all the Timberwolves action'
right on
Jazz announcers thing Dirk is the best power forward in the league? Really?
Yeah, I think he's going with "most famous" here.
or "most German".
Rubio is so cool.
beautiful no look pass
The Wolves are only down 2 at half time? After the adjustments Adelman puts into play this game is going to be a blow out.
That's what I was thinking. Compared to last night, this is an insurmountable lead.
In something completely unrelated to the game, whoever first decided to put sesame seeds on pizza crust is a genius.
what kind of pizza?
Tonight we have bacon but I've gone with sesame seeds with other toppings as well and never been disappointed. I hope they have sesame seed crust at Captain Karl's Pizza Ship.
i'd give that a shot, for sure.
That is a great idea, you guys.
sounds like some bold flavors.
looks like it was too close for the wolves' liking at the half.
Degree of difficulty, apparently.
Love got a call he didn't deserve. Huh
Then didn't get a call he did deserve.
nice, darko...
Man, for how much I like hockey the NHL is embarrassing. Two players fight, both get minors, then two seconds after they get released from the box, they go at it again. I hate that part of the game.
Rau a goal in his first NHL game. Good job, kid.
it was really an own goal, but hey!
The wolves have looked out of sorts on both ends of the court so far this quarter.
The Wolves are really putting themselves in a position to make an awesome come from behind victory.
No, that was not "one heck of a block". It was one heck of a goaltend.
Just rewatched it. It certainly looked like it was on the way down.
You'll have to forgive the booth, they were working under the impression that refs weren't calling goaltends this year. (at least, that's what I've noticed.)
Nice fast break!
Holy crap! Three Wild goals in two minutes!
Love is kind of taking a beating tonight.
Lotta whistles tonight--apparently somebody bet the over.
Yeah, this game has no real flow as a result. And still, they've missed some.
I love the play where Rubio passes to the open guy who makes a three pointer.
Well, the polls don't lie. Paul Milsap is your best PF in the league.
I love "Where are you from?" polls.
You run that poll anywhere else and Milsap isn't even on the ballot.
Are you doubting the judgment of the state of Utah? For shame.
Heh.
Don't make me say anything about Utahians that I might regret in the morning!
Yeah, when I saw he was on there I laughed, and when I thought about the fact he was going to win, I cried.
Poll time:
Who is the best shortstop in all of baseball?
[ ] Nishioka
[ ] Jeter
Alexi Casilla
I can't believe he was left off the list. Whoever wrote this poll is clearly biased.
Weh-hell, this is pretty manageable.
I am pretty sure Wayne Ellington is shooting 113% from the field this past week.
Ellington!
nice start to the 4th.
Oh, f*&^in' hell, I am sick of playing behind.
They probably wouldn't be if they hadn't given up 6000 offensive rebounds.
yeah, the wolves are behind on 5th chance points this game.
I know. Every subsequent one gets me closer to yelling obscenities.
I feel like the Mac character, when he was trying to bulk up, on Its Always Sunny is best realized in the form of Nikola Pekovic.
Ridnour is on fire
Denver wins in NYC tonight.
well, denver’s a hell of a team. they’re one of the deeper teams in the NBA right now.
Those 20 missed shots by 'melo sure helped.
Ricky Rubio is Spanish for Tim Tebow.post removed by author
I'm going to pretend you didn't say that.
I'm going to recognize it, and kill FTLT.
I'm closer. I'll do it.
Better?

Eh, I like this better.
Milsap proving he's the premiere power forward in the NBA tonight.
GOSO
I wonder if the Jazz would trade Milsap for Love straight up?
Well, at least the Wild are ahead. 5-2 now
why are they bothering to shoot? just hand it to the jazz and save more time.
No double double for Love tonight. 🙁
