  1. You got me with this one, Spoons (or whoever did it, if it wasn't you). I woke up today thinking I missed the most awesome one man conversation ever.

      1. This was super simple to do. Much easier than I expected. I got the idea nearly two months ago but then proceeded to forget until yesterday afternoon. 30 minutes after starting, I had it working. Another 30 minutes and I was able to get it to have a delayed activation, making sure no one would see it until the morning.

    1. Yeah, since I usually read the CoCs from the bottom up, I didn't get to Spooky's "I expect some tricks today" business. I was seriously confused.

    1. If anything could break the site, a one man show of negativity from SF would be it.

                1. Like Mags, that is the exact thing I thought of when I saw the reference, I didn't even need to click the link to know what it was.

                1. I loved Cool McCool. I don't remember much about it any more, but I remember I loved it.

  2. So, it comes down to me vs. strategery for the bracket thing. I'm in the top 1000 for the nation now. It's exciting, but also a downer to know I'll never even get close to this many points again.

Also, it's a downer that we didn't put money on this. Would it be bad form to force everyone to do so now? FTLT? I don't know gambling etiquette.

    1. In Sheenie's office pool (winner take all), I'm currently in first place and have Kansas winning the title. Sheenie's in second place and has Kentucky winning. Somehow without coordinating we hedged our brackets.

    2. The year Maryland won it I had everything from the final 8 on correct along with like 13 of final 16. I was in something like top 200 nationwide. I was in a crappy little pool and won like $80. If I had been in a bigger bar pool or something I could have won much much more.

      1. It should have been doing that all day. Last night, part of the reason we figured it was fine is that the sidebar remained unchanged.

  3. I see the Twins sent Butera down. What are they thinking? Doumit CANNOT be the backup catcher. This season's already down the toilet.

      1. Ok, that makes it even more hilarious. I loved the part about blowing on it.

      1. "Once things started going south, the problem we had in our clubhouse was an issue of accountability," former Twin Michael Cuddyer said when he signed with the Colorado Rockies last December. "That is not a secret. Even Gardy came out and said that."

Umm, "accountability"? Sounds to me like a failure of management. It's management's job to hold staff accountable. Or at least that's what I tell my staff.

    1. The 'nums are an effecient, inexpensive, session beer. Plus you get to make a ton of db jokes while drinking them.

      1. Efficient is right, I'll give them that.

The Platinum doesn't - well - taste like anything, but it's inoffensive and okay for sitting up on the deck and BSing with my dad next to the now-'famous' murder house.

Budweiser still blows ass, by the way. In case anyone was wondering.

          1. Mine was a Midwest tornado, not the east coast hurricane or whatever other lines people get. I find earthquakes kind of fun, but I've never been in a one big enough to really shake stuff around. What do the people in California get for a last line? bS, socal?

            1. I got the blizzard, which was perfect. Then I realized Oklahoma and Texas can get it as well and it's lame.

If you're curious about all of the variations, read the reddit comment linked to above. I don't see anything specific for California.

            2. ??? I got two completely different strips, in FF vs. Chrome. The FF one was a single panel with "Well, this is embarrassing...[blah blah blah] and the alt text was just one sentence about Umwelt. In Chrome, I get a riff on Rick Deckard's Voight-Kampff Test, and a two-sentence alt text. blizzard? tornado?

    1. My old-ass MS Explorer got darkness "There's no-one here" and was it some dinosaurs?

  4. My wife has a car stereo with a 6-disk CD player, but it does not have an auxiliary input for an MP3 player, so she has asked me to make some CDs for her to use in her SUV. The stereo plays MP3s but not WMAs. I made a couple audio CDs of music. The first one was burned on a disk I had just lying around and it plays just fine on the stereo. I then bought a 10-pack of Memorex CDs to burn more songs onto them. The first audio CD I burned won't play on it but will play on my car's stereo, which is newer (2011 to 2005) and plays both MP3s and WMAs. The disks I bought are 52X, 700MB/Mo, 80min CD-R disks. I don't want to burn another one and hope that the next one works. I'm just wondering if I need to get a different type of disk or burn it in a different way. I burned it with Windows Media at the default settings. Would it work better to burn it as a data disk and burn them as MP3s?

  5. I havent watched a Wild game in a while (Valentine's Day? maybe before that), but this Blackhawk-Wild game has been entertaining. end to end action, and goals being scored! And its like the old days because there have been scraps and fights all along the way.

    holy cows another goal.
