June 2, 2012: Hold the Fort Down

It's possible I have no idea what's going on with the Twins. Being unable to watch the games makes it hard to bother staying in the loop for such a bad team.

    1. I had no idea Johan threw a no-hitter until I got up this morning. I'm glad he was the one to do it. And that ball that was called foul is about as close to being foul as can be while still being fair, and then it angled pretty sharply into foul territory. I think that would be like a bang-bang play at first.

      1. Maybe so, but it was still clearly the wrong call and if it had been made correctly, there would have been no no-hitter. Period.

        1. I know if I was an umpire I would much rather call a fair ball foul than vice versa in that situation. I don't think that ump will be having to make any public apologies to the Cardinals.

            1. Wait, wait, everyone, I need to check the chalk line. ... Yep, that was a fair ball. Keep going.

  1. I'm thinking I'm going to need a pinch hitter on the game log tonight. I'm pretty sure I won't be at a computer until after 6.

  2. @dadboner takes on the new Miller Lite cans:

Really hurtin'. Got a case of Miller Lite (on sale) last night. Cans are made for shotgunnin'! You get to the best part fast; the bottom.

Miller Lite says their new can is for smoothness. They can't say "shotgunnin'?" C'mon, we're all adults here. I call 'em Miller 12 Gauges.

When a brand of cold ones comes out with somethin that makes you drink 'em double fast, it's 'cause they don't want you to notice it's crap.

I'll pick up some Miler Lite if it's on sale. But if you order a Miller Lite at a bar, and you're a guy, you better have a 3 ft peener.

Miller Lite is only ok for real men to drink in the privacy of their own home, and as fast as possible, you guys.

Musta crushed about 18 Miller 12 Gauges last night. Can't get 'em in fast enough to get the job done. Bet Stone Cold could drink a thousand.

Goin' for another case of Miller 12 Gauges (for AT HOME). If I start shotgunnin em now, I should be loose and conversational in about 4 hrs.

Miller Lite 12 Gauges: "Just shotgun our girl beer in ya as fast as possible so you can drink more than the dozen it takes to feel boozed."

    Man up.

    1. I really like the smattering of Cubs/Giants in the sea of Yankees/Tigers in southern Georgia.

      1. I wonder if a player from that area is playing, or that local affiliate prefers Cubs over Yankees

    2. It is nice to know that since MLB considers me a part of both the Cleveland AND NY market that they picked the team father away from me to be my local broadcast.

    3. It's kind of ridiculous to consider either the Twins/Indians game or the Padres/D-Backs game to be national broadcasts.

    4. Scroll down to the May 26th game to see some very interesting gerrymandering. I can sort of get Baltimore getting the Tampa/Boston game since they're in the same division, but San Diego also? And most of western Virginia. Part of southwestern Texas gets Anaheim/Seattle and so does the middle of Montana.

  3. Hawk Harrelson toned during his ripping of the umpire 'Cowboy' Joe West for a balk call on a Sox pitcher. He just kinda chuckled and said 'thats not a balk'.

Ichiro has hit 2 jacks this game, but Sox still lead.

    1. meat, my feelings would not be hurt if one of those showed up on my doorstep. But not necessary.
