WGOM Fitness: October 15, 2012, Rest Day Needed

Either today or tomorrow, I will not be going to the gym and I think I need a day off

Yesterday, I worked around the yard quite a bit and I was pretty worn out. I decided last night that I would go to the gym and it turns out that I was totally incapable of doing that. I got on the bike and I rode for 15 minutes before I gave up. I had already done plenty and I needed rest, more than anything. So, I got some rest. I slept nine hours last night and I woke up refreshed. I think today will be the rest day.

I will be out of pocket From Wednesday through Friday.

  1. I went for a long walk with mrsS yesterday rather than going to the gym. Shades of things to come when we are empty nesters, I think. It was nice, and worth skipping the gym for.

    1. We have Lake Carlos State Park about two miles from where we live, and to this point, we have not taken advantage of that fact. We've been trying to do better about getting out and walking after dinner lately - at least a couple of times a week.

  2. To celebrate the Half Marathon, NBBW ordered Italian cake (Napoleon) from Modern Bakery on Franklin Street in S. Hartford. We invited a friend from the 1/2 training over and his wife/kid. Was very nice, coffee/tea/espresso.

    Still sore from the Half but my nature is to jump into the next thing.

  3. This morning I weighed in at 159.8, which is the lowest I've seen since high school. That's not too crazy considering I'm only 25, but I'll take it.
