SALT RIVER 12, PEORIA 9 IN PEORIA

TwinsEvan Bigley was 1-for-5 and struck out twice.  Caleb Thielbar pitched a perfect innings, striking out two.

Game summary:  Peoria led 7-2 after four, but two in the fifth and five in the sixth gave the Rafters the lead for good.

Salt River:  Chris Owings (Arizona) was 3-for-5 with three doubles, scoring twice and driving in two.  Anthony Rendon (Washington) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in three.

Peoria:  Mike Zunino (Seattle) was 2-for-5 with a double and a homer, driving in three.  Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 2-for-5 with a double and a homer, scoring twice and driving in two.

SURPRISE 7, PHOENIX 3 IN SURPRISE

Game summary:  Surprise scored two in the second, sixth, and seventh to ease to victory.

Phoenix:  Kevin Kiermaier (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.  Lenny Linsky (Tampa Bay) struck out four in two shutout innings.

Surprise:  Hanser Alberto (Texas) was 3-for-3 with a triple, scoring twice.  Seth Blair (St. Louis) struck out five in 3.1 scoreless innings.

SCOTTSDALE 5, MESA 2 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  A Ricky Oropesa two-run homer highlighted a three-run fourth for Scottsdale, breaking a scoreless tie.

Mesa:  L. J. Hoes (Baltimore) drove in both runs with a single.

Scottsdale:  Kyle Kaminska (Pittsburgh) gave up three hits in five shutout innings.  Oropesa (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with a walk.
