Game summary:  Escogido scored four in the second and two in the third to take a 6-0 lead.  A two-run Cibao sixth made it 6-4 and there it stayed.

Escogido:  Mauro Gomez (Boston) homered and walked, scoring twice and driving in two.  Alexis Lara (San Diego) retired all five men he faced.

Cibao:  Carlos Peguero (Seattle) was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Jonathan Diaz (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

AGUILAS 13, ORIENTE 6 IN ORIENTE

TwinsDrew Butera (Oriente) was 0-for-2.  Luis Perdomo (Aguilas) allowed one run on one hit and three walks, striking out one in 1.2 innings.

Game summary:  Aguilas scored six in the first.  Oriente never got closer than four runs.

Aguilas:  Hector Luna (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and two walks, scoring three times.  Efren Navarro (Angels) was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer.

Oriente:  Alex Valdez was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer.  Felix Pie (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with a home run.

Game summary:  Este scored two in the first to take the lead, three in the fourth to take control, and four in the seventh to put it away.

Este:  Jose Costanza (Atlanta) was 5-for-5, scoring three times and driving in two.  Hector Gomez (Milwaukee) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.

Licey:  Engel Beltre (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Yordany Ramirez was 2-for-2.
